A brilliant Ayoze Perez quote has emerged following Saturday’s stunning 3-2 win over Everton, revealing how players huddled together during the celebrations of our equaliser and motivated each other to get a winner.
Perez looks a different player with Almiron in the side and scored a brace to get us over the line during the crucial win over the weekend. The feel-good factor is back following our rise up the table, and these quotes from Perez are another brilliant reminder of the spirit that exists within this group.
Here’s what the Spaniard had to say about the team’s ‘winning mentality’ and newfound ‘belief’ at St James’ Park:

It’s amazing what confidence can bring. Perez was badly out of form and the team not able to buy a win just matter of months ago; the weekend was the first time we have come back from two goals down to win in the Premier League since 2003.
It is this belief that has led to calls in the media (ex Liverpool forward Luis Garcia being one) for Perez to be selected for the Spanish national team. While that may still be a leap – it is great to see the former Tenerife man playing so well. The confidence of the team can also only help us move further up the table.
