According to talkSPORT’S ‘super-computer‘, Newcastle will finish the 2018/19 Premier League season in 14th – a result that would see us become the ‘best of the rest’ amongst the 7 sides battling relegation this term.
Their 14th place prediction has us finishing above former relegation rivals Burnley, Southampton and Brighton, with them expecting Cardiff to join Fulham and Huddersfield in the Championship next season.
Interestingly, they also have Man City to come out top and win the title, backing Spurs and Chelsea for top 4 finishes, with Arsenal and Man Utd missing out in 5th and 6th and newly promoted Wolves up in 7th – a finish that will earn them a place in the Europa League should Man City beat Watford in next month’s FA Cup final.
Here’s their ‘super computer’s’ predicted table in full, followed by the current Premier League table:
- Manchester City
- Liverpool
- Spurs
- Chelsea
- Arsenal
- Man Utd
- Wolves
- Watford
- Leicester City
- Bournemouth
- Everton
- Crystal Palace
- West Ham
- Newcastle United
- Southampton
- Burnley
- Brighton
- Cardiff City
- Fulham
- Huddersfield
Current Premier League table as things stand:
Interestingly, here’s how talkSPORT’S super computer saw the Premier League table ending when predicting the rest of the season’s results back in February – with them having us to narrowly escape the drop in 17th back then:
- Manchester City
- Liverpool
- Spurs
- Chelsea
- Man Utd
- Arsenal
- Wolves
- Watford
- Leicester
- Bournemouth
- West Ham
- Everton
- Brighton
- Burnley
- Crystal Palace
- Southampton
- Newcastle
- Cardiff
- Fulham
- Huddersfield
How do you see our final four games panning out?
With Southampton, Brighton and Fulham to play in three of our final four games, can you see us finishing the season strongly?
Not so sure about talksports Supercomputer but my “Average Tablet” has us finishing in 16th place current form of the teams around us, injury status of key players around us and most importantly the phenomenal collapse of our team last season and the poor start this.
We don’t do well at the beginning or the end of a game and I’m happy to extrapolate that through to the entire season just because I think all of this “Supercomputer” stuff is a load of *****.
