Watch debut goal & penalty save as Murphy & Woodman make Championship Team of the Week

It’s been a great weekend for Jacob Murphy and Freddie Woodman, with the pair being named in the Championship team of the week after superb displays for their new loan clubs.

Murphy, who joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan on deadline day, enjoyed a dream debut for the Owls, scoring within 2 minutes of his debut in their 2-0 win over Barnsley – a result that’s sent them top of the Championship.

As for Freddie Woodman, the England U-21 international was Swansea’s star man in their hard-earned 0-0 draw at Derby, saving Martyn Waghorn’s penalty to maintain his unbeaten start to the new season:

As a result, both have been named in WhoScored.com’s Championship team of the week, with Woodman earning a match rating of 8.4 and Murphy 8.2:

Considering both have been struggling for game time on Tyneside, leaving their long-term futures at the club in doubt as a result, it’s great to see them getting off to a strong start with their new loan clubs.

Murphy’s Sheffield Wednesday face a trip to Millwall on Saturday, while Swansea face Preston at the Liberty Stadium – although he could also play in their Carabo Cup clash with Northampton tonight.
