Saint-Maximin fears emerge as club release new training photos – Forgotten duo also spotted

The club have released pictures of the first-team in training today ahead of Saturday’s trip to Norwich – and there’s a few things we’ve picked up on.

Firstly, summer signing Allan Saint-Maximin is nowhere to be seen in any of the 30 training pictures (including the group shots) posted on the club’s official site in the last few moments (see them in full here).

While he may have missed the session for a whole host of reasons, this is a slight concern less than 48 hours before we’ll set off for Saturday’s trip to Norwich.

On a positive note, it looks like Jonjo Shelvey is fine despite hobbling off 7 minutes into the second half on Sunday, but the above pictures suggest Saint-Maximin may well have missed this morning’s session.

Elsewhere, Rob Elliot is back in the group after an unexplained absence all summer, while Senegalese international Henri Saivet has returned to training for the first time since Steve Bruce’s arrival.

Saivet may be back, but the former Bordeaux midfielder is one of several senior players who’ve failed to make Steve Bruce’s 25-man squad.

On that subject, today’s pictures also show that both Jack Colback, Rolando Aarons and Jamie Sterry are still training with the first-team – despite the fact they missed the cut last Friday.

Hopefully Saint-Maximin’s absence is minor and not a sign that he could miss this weekend’s trip to Carrow Road.

  1. Says a lot about Bruce you’re not In the squad but I haven’t cut you off by the knees as if you aren’t a good professional surely improves training and morale
