I don’t think anyone is saying that Alan Pardew wasn’t silly with his actions yesterday and should have controlled himself in a fashion more befitting of a Premier League manager. He’s even said that himself in the wake of the event.
However some news outlets are suggesting that Pardew could well face the sack. The words “gross misconduct” have been mentioned which generally spell the end of any employment contract and would give the hierarchy a way of disposing of Pardew without paying out a load of compensation. United had remained quiet on the matter until a statement released late last night revealed that they’d handed out a £100,000 fine and gave Pardew a formal warning. It seems he is safe, but what are the opinions of you guys? Should he have kept his job or should he be facing the axe?
My own opinion is that if people really do want to see Alan Pardew sacked for a spur of the moment reaction, then what happens next and how far do you take it? Should we have sacked Loic Remy after his headbutt at Norwich? If not, why is it any different?
I made a point somewhere in the comments yesterday about people being a tad hypocritical about all this by condemning Alan Pardew to hell. I mean we’ve hardly been staffed with angels in recent years. Jonathan Woodgate was convicted of affray, Joey Barton, well, is Joey Barton, Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer tried to thump seven bells out of each other on the pitch. Even Alan Shearer did the odd silly thing on the pitch. None of them were sacked.
The point is that it is easy to act as judge, jury and executioner when you aren’t in the moment. Millions have seen what happened as it will be broadcast worldwide, but none us, even some of the players on the pitch let alone fans in the stand will know if there was a real trigger point to start with.
Not that it’s a justifiable excuse, there is none. Pardew will be punished by the FA and will probably have the book thrown at him. And quite right too. However this ‘mock shock’ a lot of fans, journalists and onlookers are displaying and this moral crusade that appears to be gathering pace is, to be frank, a load of bollocks.
He did wrong, he’s admitted he was in the wrong, he lost his head and will accept any punishment. I just think that calling for him to be sacked because of this is one punishment too far but what do you think? Have a vote below.

Bootsy
It was nowt. He didn’t head **** him. He push him off with his head.
He was wrong. He has put his hands up immediately.
Absolute trivia. If he does it again then it’s unforgivable but as a one off its nowt.
Troy Stavers(Quote)
Basically.. Pardew sneezed and the FA caught a cold! 😛
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Hahaha. Aussie. You did a better job than me there by suiting your post to the intellectual level of your audience.
Well done! 😛
Troy Stavers(Quote)
Ahh this is true Troy and you are my audience at this late hour! 😆 😆 😛
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Aussie.
Do you think Bootsy understands what it’s like to be in a cauldron of pressure?
What with me being brought up in the wrestling ring and you being brought up in the outback, I would imagine Bootsy has no idea of how Pards felt when in a head on situation.
Bootsy, you need to get out more from your bedroom and head doon the Bigg Market wearing a leather thong and vest and see what it’s like to face an angry man!
My god Bootsy you haven’t lived!!
Troy Stavers(Quote)
Troy, I agree mate.. this hot desert air and deadly king brown snakes lurking about can certainly add to a mans pressure levels. You are lucky to be able to comfortable wear your wrestling trunks. I don’t even want to go into detail about the ramifications of wearing those kind of trunks in a car that has been sitting in the sun all day. Let me just say that you want as much **** coverage as possible when sitting on a top notch vinyl covered car seat! 😆
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Aussie
Look out your window now and what do you see?
I’m visualising you are seeing eucolyptus trees with koalas munching and roos underneath boxing one another.
Your mother shouting from the kitchen, ” Billy Bob, your tea is ready! It’s widgity grubs and smoked possum!”
Tumble weed blows across the dusty road and bangs into your ute which has sand blasted paintwork and your dad is shearing the sheep on your parched lawn, wearing his dungarees and straw cap.
God I love you Aussie. You are such a strapping lad in your basket ball shorts, baseball boots and chewing baccy as if it’s gum. !
😛
Troy Stavers(Quote)
in all seriousness, no one on this here blog can attest to knowing how much pressure Pardz is under! Yeah, he should have known better but by fuk the job does come with a serious amount of scrutiny and pressure!
I coach under 10’s football and it is bad enough when parents are giving you a hard time for not playing their little Ronaldo jnr in his favourite position. There is so much to think about it’s not funny. I can not even begin to imagine the head fuk that Pardew and his team have to go through on a weekly basis. 😕
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Very close Troy, but let me clear the air a little for you.. Here is some footage of me from a few years ago.

Before you reply. Keep it quiet cos we don’t want that boring Begas to wake from his geriatric ward.
I zoomed in on google earth live , yesterday and saw Begas sunbathing on a beach just outside of Perth.
My goodness grief, budgie smugglers clearly have go a place in Aussielamd. 😯
Troy Stavers(Quote)
Aussie… I remember that one 😆 although I think we both know that you can’t move that fast either now or then 😉
…and if you can’t even play Ronaldo Jr in his best position maybe management isn’t for you 😛
richietoon(Quote)
Richie, you should see how fast I can make it to the bar fridge when the beer in my hand runs dry! 😆 😆
Re management; The parents think their kids are Ronaldo jnr… when in fact they are more like Richienaldos! 😆
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Aussie 😆
So they’re even better than Ronaldo 😯 😉 tbf my 6 pack is much more impressive than his, I’ve it cooling in the fridge now
Ref Curtis Good I think that’s the 3rd(possibly 4th) injury he’s had now, do you know if he had many injuries in Oz or has Pard’s just coached all the fitness out of him? 😆
richietoon(Quote)
😆 not sure but for his latest injury, I think Pardew actually head butted his thigh!! 😆
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
😆 Then he really is injury prone if a Pard’s “headbutt” can hurt him 😯
Meant 3rd or 4th injury at Newcastle btw
richietoon(Quote)
Richie 😆 true…. He actually had a good injury free run while he was playing for Melbourne Heart (we picked him up on the back of that form).
I am not sure he is that injury prone, I think he has had a few good runs of games. Most of the injuries seem to be soft tissue so they are nothing major!
But as you say, if Pardew can coach the skill, passing ability, decision making process, goals, fitness and confidence out of players, there is no denying that he could coach injuries into them as well! 😆
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Aussie , it will be the bracing Toon air effecting his body, he isn’t used to the cold being from Oz. 😉
Re Pards and the pressure he’s under, I think all PL managers are under pressure tbf, there is far too much money to be lost from dropping out the top league now and it has ramped up the pressure on managers to a ridiculous level. Having said all that lots of us are under extreme pressure in our daily lives and we aren’t reimbursed as handsomely as your PL is. 🙁 So I’m not really feeling all that sorry for the guy ,if he can’t handle the heat he can always walk away which isn’t an option for plenty of others.
KIMTOON(Quote)
@467 should read ,as your PL manager is.
KIMTOON(Quote)
Kim, all fair points.. I dont actually feel sorry for Pardz but fair play to him for not trying to squirm out of it by denying the charge. I am pretty sure we have all fired up over things and how much money we earn and all that doesnt even come into it.. sometimes when you are under pressure for sustained periods something has to give.. look I am not condoning what he has done but its hard to judge him too harshly because it is a pressure cooker environment! Fergy has blown his top more often than most but he has very little come back for his actions!
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Aussie ,Fergie never went for an opo player on the touch line though . I do think a big deal has been made of it though it’s way over the top but he has been naughty on the line a few times now this season and needs to take a deep breath and step back before he totally wrecks his reputation. It’s such a shame he did it after winning manager of the year .
KIMTOON(Quote)
Kim, fergy did hit Becks in the head with a boot during one of his rants. Nothing was made of that and the world was incredibly lucky not have have the model looks of Becks ruined forever! 🙂
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Aussie – the fergie incident was not in public view, but in the changing rooms. Different all together
Kim – Pardew has already tarnished his reputation. This stupid incident will live with him forever. I am truly gutted because he won’t get offered the England job after Roy flops in the summer. That was my banker bet for getting rid of the clown.
Troy – What pressure is a manger under when his team are comfortably sitting 8th in the league, and currently winning a match 3-1 away. ffs 👿
Absolutely no excuse for his actions.
I’d call it a brain fart, if I thought he had one.
Beardsleys Boots(Quote)
If I was the FA I’d revoke all his coaching qualifications and suspend him for a year. Headbutt that mate!
georgio(Quote)
So I understand this correctly. ? It’s ok to assault a player as long as you do it behind closed doors! Wow, great logic! We should apply that theory to all assaults, if nobody sees it, its fine! Nice one BB 😉
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Aussie…So basically Good’s injuries are just due to him being a soft southern ***** 😉 😛
The lad seems to be doing well so hopefully next season we may see him getting some 1st team experience with NUFC.
richietoon(Quote)
Don’t be a **** all your life Aussie. 👿
Take a day off. 😛
Beardsleys Boots(Quote)
Richie, if Good was a pommy player, he would be having his leg amputated right about now.. injuries that require amputation are referred to as strains down this way! 🙂
BB, now, now dont get all shirty because you tabled a ridiculous counter argument to my fergy comment! 😉
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
There is a difference Aussie – 20m people were watching the head shake.
georgio(Quote)
Giorgio, thanks for clearing that up…
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Aussie…If he was a Pom, he’d have had his leg amputated on the pitch and carried on playing… and still fallen over less than Shola 😆
richietoon(Quote)
Richie 🙂 shola is a special case though! 🙂
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Richie – Shola has two legs though doesn’t he? I know he doesn’t look like it . . .
georgio(Quote)
Aussie anyword back from Jabba about that PR job ❓
Big Dave(Quote)
Aussie was that really you on that Hogan clip? Full cans of beer thrown too? Think I’ll have to take your comments more seriously in future 😀
georgio(Quote)
Aussie , I don’t think anyone thinks it’s ok to assault any player at any time, but the big difference here where SAF was concerned was it was away from the spot light and no wider public would ever of known of it had it not been for Becks parading his little plasters above his eye in front the cameras and then letting it ‘ slip out ‘ that it was SAF who done it 😉
Contrast that to Pards who just lost control due to an almighty brain fart in full public view of stadium, and god knows how many million tv viewers all over the world. Before you know it ,it’s gone viral on Twatter and the FA have got themselves one almighty headache. 🙄 Given the circumstances and media mass wet pants over it the FA have little choice but to act harshly on him . It’s his own bloody fault and rather than passion I think it shows a lack of self control tbh.
KIMTOON(Quote)
Georgio…Aye he does have two, it’s just a pity they’re both left ones 😛
richietoon(Quote)
What happens when Carr retires? What connections does Ashley have in the scouting world? None, would be my guess. Carr is about 70 now isn’t he? Will he really stay for the full 8 years and if not who comes next?

GeordieTwo(Quote)
I just wanted to thank everyone who voted to make me Official Blog Hobbit on this site as well. A great honour. Don’t worry mates, I’ll make you proud!
GeordieTwo(Quote)
G2 have you been out on the juice with Rod 😆
Ice Batty has always been a soft touch, so I take it you have been taking it easy on your hols, and keeping Lee busy
Big Dave(Quote)
I was hoping Alan would get the England job after Roy gets the boot in the summer. It will probably go to Harry Rednapp instead. Rednapp and Mark Hughes have wasted ridiculous amounts of money at QPR but there’s no transfer fee’s involved managing national teams. With an easy qualifying group to euro 16 the manager doesn’t have much to worry about.
stem(Quote)
That wasn’t me Big Dave mate. I believe that was Mark. I’m busy designing my own Newcastle United hobbit vest. 😀
GeordieTwo(Quote)
G2 yeah that Mark is worth watching 😆
Big Dave(Quote)

KIMTOON(Quote)

we’ll all be on the mushrooms by then.
Time to dig out some Floyd LP’s me thinks.
Beardsleys Boots(Quote)
Kim I did think about mushrooms but I thought they were a bit yesterday
Big Dave(Quote)
Big Dave, I got the pr job mate. Ashley wants me to keep an eye on the hysterical horde members to make sure they are not blowing everything way out of proportion! I am up to my eyeballs in reports due to all the hordes knicker twists! 🙂
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Kim, I’m sorry, I can’t see the difference. In both cases a player was assaulted by a manager. Maybe Donachie shouldn’t have resigned after he punched Streete, after all it was done behind closed doors! I can’t see how a line can be drawn between the two cases just because one was in public! I am not defending Pardz, he deserves everything coming his way.. it just funny how ome managers are beyond reproach!
Aussie Magpie Fan(Quote)
Aussie , Of course you are right there is no difference, assault is assault at the end of the day . The difference is that this was done in full public view which forces the FA’s hand is what I’m getting at. I agree that action should be taken where ever it occurs if the injured party wants it , and I do wonder if Meyler actually wants to see Pards banned for the rest of the season, I wouldn’t mind betting he’s not fussed either way. For the bigger picture , it would seem we have a few hot heads within the coaching set up, maybe a collective anger management course is in order 😉 .
KIMTOON(Quote)
Dave@498 😆 , It was really the Hobbit reference by G2 ,got me thinking of woodland creatures and all that stuff, so mushrooms just seemed the logical link.

Did i watch the same incident as these cunts in the press, Meyler “brushed past pardew” wrong, He shoved him with both hands and knocked him off balance. He then showed “great restraint” Wrong again, He was held back by two players and the benches separated them in the end.
Pardew deserved his fine and obviously will get a ban for his stupidity but what an absolute **** Meyler is (and his quasimodoesque lard **** manager for that matter) to try and play the martyr after showing such disrespect to an opposition manager…
CC(Quote)
Well our chestnuts are in the fire again with Pardew. I think he’ll be banned for the rest of the season but Meylor should get something as well. As for Fulham with Magath I’m beginning to change me mind. He may not have enough time to turn them around. A lot of work to do as Official Blog Hobbit. It’s not all naps and lovely munchies mates. 😆
GeordieTwo(Quote)
Ashley will do the right thing for us in the summer. Gomis on a free and Ba with one leg. Move that Remy fella on as he just doesn’t fit into our wage structure. We’ve got too many goals in the side as it stands now. 🙂
GeordieTwo(Quote)
Is anybody else worried about our chestnuts?
GeordieTwo(Quote)
Talk of us going after Lukaku in the summer. Would love to have him with us but would Mike SmallBerries offer enough? It’s a big question mark for me.
GeordieTwo(Quote)
What would Lukaku be asking for as a wage? I’m just wondering. We blog hobbits are quite poor but I could offer some nice pipe tobacco.
GeordieTwo(Quote)
If Ashley went missing for a few months would anybody notice?
GeordieTwo(Quote)
Today Gateshead won 1-0 away at top 4 side Barnet. I wouldn’t say this was ‘must win’ but it was starting to get that way. The result see’s the ‘heed remain within touching distance of the play-off positions in 6th. Only one team are automatically promoted into League 2 and only two teams go in and out of the football league.
DJG(Quote)
Geordie – I don’t think we’d have a chance getting Lukaku mate. I think Chelsea will get rid on Torres, Éto and Ba and keep Lukaku and get Costa of Falcao.
If not, Lukaku could walk into nearly any CL side next season.
It would be great to get Remy but again I see him at a CL club next season. Still lots of other options out there though.
Sharpy17(Quote)
We brought in a new player, Brocolli, that’s a turnip for the book, bean hoping a salt of the earth defender who’s cool as a cucumber. He’s salad that seems to have a 24 carrot future. Lettuce hope he doesn’t stew in the junior ranks too long. Thyme will tell.
brisvegas(Quote)
Is it me or is there far too many ex bindippers on TV now?!
BT Sports – Steve Mc and David James
Sky Sports – Redknapp, Souness and Carragher
And MOTD last night was Danny Murphy and Robbie Fowler – normally Hansen and Lawro.
Sharpy17(Quote)
SHARPY hurray someone agrees Ime fed up going on about how many there are, pleased Hanson is going at end of season,so he should at forty grand a show ffs,but they will just put a another. scouse gits on
icedog(Quote)
Ice – it’s ridiculous mate!. I wouldn’t mind if there was a bit of a balance but when ALL pundits are ex Liverpool it’s just stupid!. I watched a game on BT sport the other week and Mc and James were the studio pundits with Owen co-commentator, then Sky Sports was Redknapp and Souness with MOTD Hansen and Murphy.
Now this highlights 2 things. One there needs to be less dippers on. And two, I need to stop watching so much footy 😆
Sharpy17(Quote)
SHARPY keep fit mate get running round the park with the dog. 😆
icedog(Quote)
Sharpy , I agree mate and the accent grates on me something chronic too 👿 I know my Bristol accent isn’t the best but bloody hell Scouse and Brummie has to be up there as the most annoying . 😉
KIMTOON(Quote)
Watching MOTD and got to say RVP did his best to try and get sent off yesterday didn’t he, don’t think he’s up for the fight for 6th place 😆 . Also nice cheeky little goal from Lewis Holtby yesterday, quite like the look of him actually.
KIMTOON(Quote)
Ice – what do you think half times for mate 😉 😆
I’m only kidding, that day was a one off, the boy and the dog were with the in laws for a sleep over. Usually I get to watch the Disney Channel or Boomerang 🙄 – when were not a Chester le St park or Finchale Abbey that is like.
Kim – scouse and pukka cockney is my nails down the blackboard accent. When Jamie Carragher or Ray Parlour come on the tele I turn off! 👿 😆
Sharpy17(Quote)
Kim – if I were Moyes I’d get rid of RVP in the summer while he can still get some decent money for him. Class player when he can be arsed but his attitude stinks!. He left Arsenal in a huff and he’s had a right cob on for most of this season.
Can’t stand the lad personally and i reckon Moyes could replace his goals easy enough with players like Rooney, Mata and Januzi (or words to that effect) around them.
Holtby is a canny player and it would depend on how much Spurs wanted for him I reckon. I’d love us to get Siem De Jong, Grenier and Depay as attacking midfielders personally. But Holtby would be a decent back up plan – he’s similar to Anita I think
Sharpy17(Quote)
Sharpy , Yep RVP is one big sulky get that’s for sure 😉
