Experienced attacker placed as bookies’ favourites to sign for Newcastle United

August 22, 2017August 22, 2017 Andy The Magpie

As reported by HITC, Newcastle United are currently odds-on favourites to acquire the services of Robert Snodgrass from West Ham United.

West Ham signed Robert Snodgrass from Hull City in January last season as a potential replacement for Dimitri Payet but the Scotsman has failed to even come close to filling in the void left by the Frenchman at the London Stadium and is now touted to leave the club after only six months of his arrival.

A number of English sides are interested in signing Snodgrass despite his struggles at West Ham and the likes of Newcastle United, Aston Villa and Leeds United have been mentioned as potential destinations for the 29-year-old.

Snodgrass is said to be keen on a move to Newcastle as he wants to continue playing in the Premier League and according to reports from HITC, the Magpies have leapfrogged Aston Villa as favourites to sign the former Norwich City star.

While Snodgrass would be a good addition to the Newcastle side that looks a bit toothless at the moment, it remains to be seen as to whether the club hierarchy will agree to match his asking price which could be in the region of around £7million.
