Benitez to make another move for Lucas Perez? – Arsenal now ready to sell at extremely low price

A year after Benitez confirmed his interest in signing the Spanish striker, it has been revealed today that Arsenal are ready to let Lucas Perez leave for just £7m this summer – a deal that could suit all parties at NUFC.

Perez was strongly linked with a move to Newcastle just twelve months ago. Benitez admitted that he ‘liked the player’ and confirmed that he’d held talks with Arsene Wenger over a potential deal, however he ended up sealing a loan move back to Spain with former club Deportivo.

He didn’t do badly last season, bagging 9 goals & 8 assists in a struggling Deportivo side, however he won’t be returning after they were relegated from La Liga.

He’s now back at and despite impressing over pre-season and many Arsenal fans hoping that he’d be given a chance, TalkSPORT claim that Unai Emery is now happy to let him leave for just £7m – an extremely low price for a Premier League striker in this day and age.

Lazio are said to be interested, but given our ‘limited budget’, our desperate need for attackers (he can play out wide, up top and in the number 10 role) and the fact he’s a player Benitez was pushing to sign just 12 months ago, this is a deal Rafa will be well aware of.

All things considered, this is surely a move that could make a LOT of sense for all involved at NUFC?
