Just last month, Sky Sports confirmed that Newcastle were in talks to sign PSG defender Stanley N’Soki – however the highly-rated left-back has now signed a professional contract with the French giants, all but ending our hopes of signing him anytime soon.
Despite claims of a £7m offer from NUFC and suggestions that the player had rejected ‘several’ contract offers from the Ligue 1 champions over the summer, the move failed to materialise – and he has now committed his future to PSG until 2021.
It was reported that he was looking for a move based on fears that he would not be given opportunities to play for PSG, however new boss Thomas Tuchel has handed him over 200 minutes in Ligue 1 this season, with him also starring in their French Super Cup win over Monaco (winning the man of the match award) and being included in their Champions League squad at Anfield last night.
It remains to be seen as to whether we refused to pay the asking price or he simply was not keen on a move to Tyneside, but either way, this looks like another one we may live to regret; especially when he was described as Rafa’s ‘top target’ at left-back over the summer.
Stanley N'Soki has signed his first professional contract at Paris Saint-Germain.
After much deliberation, and rumours of a move away, the 19-year-old has penned a deal which will run though to 2021.
