According to GOAL, Newcastle are battling both Leeds and Napoli for the signature of Strasbourg defender Gerzino Nyamsi.
This is also not the first time we have been linked with the defender, with RMC Sport reporting back in April that we were watching the Frenchman closely.
After joining from Rennes for £1.35m just last summer, the 25-year-old has enjoyed an excellent campaign, making 34 appearances and helping his new side secure a surprise top six finish.
At 6ft 5, Nyamso is a dominant force in the air – he was ranked ninth in the league for aerial battles won – as well as being difficult to beat on the ground, topping the Ligue 1 table last season when it came to the percentage of dribblers tackled (72% success rate).
With both Jamal Lascelles and Federico Fernández being linked with possible moves away, we could well see a right-sided centre-back join alongside the left-footed Sven Botman.
