Newcastle are in discussions to sign Southampton teenagers Kami Doyle and Tyler Dibling, NUFC Blog can exclusively reveal.
After reports over the past 24 hours suggested an unnamed Saints youngster could be on their way to Tyneside, we’ve been informed that deals for both are being worked on, with a move for Doyle believed to be more advanced.
The 16-year-old is out of contract next summer and, like Dibling, has enjoyed a breakthrough season over the past 12 months, finishing the 2021/22 Academy campaign with 11 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.
Dibling – a fellow attacking midfielder – has also caught the eye, bagging a stunning hat-trick at St James’ Park in just his second U23 appearance back in April.
The pair have represented England at youth level, with Doyle scoring for the U17’s in a 3-0 win over Norway earlier this month, while Dibling has two caps for the Three Lions’ U16 side.
Elsewhere, the club are also trying to wrap up a move for Bristol City midfielder Reuben McAllister after the youngster was invited up to Tyneside for talks.
This comes after deals were struck for Galway United’s Alex Murphy and Kilmarnock’s Charlie McArthur – two teenage defenders who are due to join our Academy next month.
