According to The Guardian, Everton are showing interest in bringing Miguel Almiron to Goodison Park before next Thursday’s deadline.
This comes from Ed Aarons, who claims that the Paraguayan would only be allowed to leave Newcastle on a permanent deal.
The Mail revealed earlier today that the Toffees were set to match our £30m offer for Watford’s Joao Pedro, however it’s emerged that another South American is also on their radar in the shape of Miggy Almiron.
With us looking to add to our attacking options, not weaken ourselves even further, I’d be shocked if Eddie Howe sanctioned a move away for the 28-year-old, unless Everton agreed to pay big money in light of Anthony Gordon’s potential £60m move to Chelsea.
Almiron scored in Sunday’s 3-3 draw to Man City and has started in nine of the last 10 league games under Howe, taking Ryan Fraser’s place in the starting 11 due to his relentless running and versatility.
I can’t see this one happening, but who knows how we’d react to a potential Everton bid should his sale free up extra funds to bring in a quality replacement?
