With the World Cup break coming to an end, The Mail have revealed a host of players being watched closely by Premier League clubs ahead of the January transfer window.
According to Simon Jones, Newcastle United are showing interest in three who featured out in Qatar – Morocco’s Sofyan Amrabat, German wonderkid Youssoufa Moukoko and Senegal winger Nicolas Jackson.
Starting with Amrabat, the Fiorentina star has been one of the standout players in Qatar following a number of all-action displays for the Atlas Lions, being the driving force behind their incredible run to the semi finals.
With Eddie Howe in the market for a holding midfielder, The Mail report that we are watching his situation closely, with Chelsea, Liverpool, West Ham and Atletico Madrid also keen.
Then to Moukoko, the 18-year-old striker who became Germany’s youngest ever player to feature at a World Cup.
The Borussia Dortmund talent is out of contract at the end of the season and could leave next month if the Bundesliga side wish to secure a fee. Chelsea have held talks, but with the Blues expected to sign Molde’s David Fofana instead, Newcastle are waiting in the wings along with Manchester United and Liverpool.
Last but not least, it’s believed we’ve also ‘expressed an interest’ in Nicolas Jackson; the Senegal winger who currently plays in Spain for Villarreal.
Everton are also thought to be keen on the 21-year-old talent, with both clubs aware of a £27m release clause that exists in his contract.
