NUFC duo at risk of one-game ban and Fulham’s ‘unsung hero’ suspended for Toon trip

Kieran Trippier and Fabian Schar will both face a one game suspension if they are shown a yellow card against Fulham on Saturday.

As for the hosts, ever-present left-back Antonee Robinson has been ruled out of the game after picking up his fifth caution in Thursday’s 2-1 win over Chelsea.

The game, which kicks off at 3pm at St James’, is the Magpies’ 19th of the season —the last before the five-yellow tightrope is wiped.

The pair, who have missed just one game between them this season, would miss the trip to Crystal Palace as a result.

Both players have been integral to Newcastle holding the best defensive record in the league this term, but have picked up four yellow cards so far.

On-field captain Trippier would likely be replaced by Javier Manquillo, who has started just one game this season, for the trip to Selhurst Park, while Jamaal Lascelles would deputise for the Swiss international in the heart of the defence.

Ex-Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic will feature for Fulham after his suspension, but left-back Antoneee Robinson will miss the game after receiving a yellow card in their 2-1 win against Chelsea.
