Sky Sports release alarming Bruno Guimaraes graphic – These stats said it all on Saturday night

Sky Sports have released an alarming statistic showing just how much this Newcastle United side struggle without Bruno Guimaraes.

In the five games in which the 25-year-old has either been injured or suspended – against Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, West Ham, Wolves and Liverpool – we have managed just four draws and one defeat.

During that span of fixtures, we are averaging 0.8 goals per game, conceding 1.0 goals per game and conceding 14.4 shots – certainly a worrying stat.

Newcastle have played 17 games so far this season with the Brazilian in midfield and have won 10 and drawn seven of them, remaining unbeaten throughout that period.

We are also scoring more (1.8 per game), conceding less (0.5 per game) and conceding less shots (9.4 per game) with the former Lyon man involved. See the graphic in full below:

Although we are still in a great position in the league and preparing for a cup final, hopefully we don’t become overly dependent on Bruno’s talents to see us over the line at the end of the season.

  1. So what are you trying to do? Scare fans into believing we can’t win against Liverpool because Bruno is not playing?
If you check Bruno’s stats you can find a dozen other areas where he’s nowhere near as good as other players in the team.
Just more statistical garbage, with random facts (not even performance based) cherry-picked to try to prove a point.
Don’t get me started on my lucky underpants!
