Newcastle co-owner Mehrdad Ghodoussi has issued a message to Toon fans attending tonight’s crucial clash with Brighton, asking us to ‘roar like lions’ and be the ’12th man’ at St James’ Park.
A win against the Seagulls would see us within touching distance of the Champions League, with just three more points needed against either Leicester or Chelsea to secure our European dream.
Ghodoussi will be looking for a similar atmosphere to that of last season’s final home fixture against Arsenal, where the crowd played a huge part in cheering the players on to a dominant performance.
We have once again been encouraged to bring our scarves and keep them ‘held high’ – something that helped boost the pre-match sceptical in our run to the Carabao Cup final earlier this year.
St James’ Park has been a fortress for us this season but the lads need our help for one last push. Here’s our co-owner’s message to Newcastle fans on Twitter:
“This is a call to arms for all of you attending the game at St James’ Park tomorrow night.
“We need you voices to be loud and your scarves held high.
“Roar like lions – you are the 12th man and your team needs you!!‘
