Some big claims have emerged from Brazil this evening, revealing that Carlo Ancelotti looks set to become the new head coach of the Selecao.
According to Globo – one of the leading South American outlets – the Italian will take over in 2024, when his contract ends with Real Madrid.
Why is this on a Newcastle United blog, you may ask? Well, it’s huge news for Toon duo Bruno Guimaraes and Joelinton. Both Mags have broken into the senior side in recent times, but will now have a new manager to impress and an elite one at that.
Joelinton made his debut for his country over the weekend, scoring in a 4-1 win over Guinea, while Bruno played in last year’s World Cup in Qatar and racked up his 11th appearance for the Samba Boys on Saturday night.
Ancelotti is an exciting appointment for the South American giants and Brazil’s first ever foreign appointment, with him set to replace interim boss Ramon Menezes next year.

You never did get round to telling us why this is huge news for Joelinton and Bruno.
