Newcastle star involved in 9-1 win on Thursday night as 18-month wait ends in style

Valentino Livramento played his part as England Under-21s battered Serbia 9-1 last night, making his first appearance in over 18 months for the Young Lions.

The right-back last featured for the youth side back in March 2022, as he went on to suffer a serious ACL injury just a few weeks later.

Livramento was subbed on for Cole Palmer in the 52nd minute with the team already 3-1 up, but they went on to score another SIX to make it an absolute thrashing in their Euro Qualifying match at the City Ground.

It’s great to see the 20-year-old – who looked quality in a man of the match performance against Man City – pick right where he left off at Southampton and continue his development.

With Kieran Trippier as his mentor and bags of potential, he’s an exciting prospect for Eddie Howe to work with and may well be the future of our defence along with Sven Botman and Lewis Hall; who is with England’s U20s over the break.
