Newcastle are one of two Premier League clubs interested in signing Krasnodar star Eduard Spertysan, according to media outlet Fichajes.
The attacking midfielder recorded 14 goals and 14 and assists last season and is believed to be available for around €13m. He’s also started this season impressively, scoring five and assisting three in the Russian club’s opening 11 games.
He’s represented by CAA Stellar; the same agency that look after Newcastle United trio Nick Pope, Elliot Anderson and Javier Manquillo.
Manchester City are also keen on the 23-year-old, who can also play on either flank but generally operates as a number 10. Spertysan was born in Russia but plays his international games for Armenia, earning 19 caps since 2021 and scoring three goals along the way.
Time will tell if there’s any truth to this one, but it’s new name linked ahead of the January window; where we could well strengthen to beef up the squad at both ends of the pitch.
