Late drama for Fabian Schar as rare error is followed by incredible comeback – Video

It was a busy night of international football on Sunday, where Spain, Scotland and Turkey all qualified for the 2024 European Championships.

For Fabian Schar, he started for Switzerland in their Euro qualifier against Group I minnows Belarus, and it turned out to be one heck of a game.

After Xherdan Shaqiri’s brilliant opener, Belarus score three second half goals to race into a shock 3-1 lead, with Schar making an uncharacteristic error that allowed Dmitriy Antilevskiy to burst clean through and finish.

However, goals in the 89th and 90th minute from Man City’s Manuel Akanji and Burnley’s Zeki Amdouni rescued a point for the hosts in incredible fashion. They would’ve gone top with a win, but the point keeps them four clear of Israel in third, who would move a point behind the Swiss if they win their game in hand.
