Newcastle United have confirmed that our FA Cup third round tie with Sunderland will take place on Saturday 6th January at the Stadium of Light.
The game is due to kick-off at 12.45pm and has been selected for live TV broadcast, with the Tyne and Wear derby set to be shown on ITV1, UTV, STV and ITVX.
It will be our first meeting with the Black Cats since 2016 and falls in between league games against Liverpool (1st January) and Man City (13th January).

Eddie Howe’s side will head to the Stadium of Light for the first Wear-Tyne derby since the 2015/16 season, with kick-off set for 12:45pm GMT on Saturday, 6th January 2024.
The hotly-anticipated clash with the Black Cats has also been selected for live television broadcast, and will be shown live on ITV1, UTV, STV and ITVX.
The game is one of six televised third round ties taking place between Thursday, 4th January and Monday, 8th January.

Sunderland are currently on the lookout for a new manager after Tony Mowbray was sacked on Monday night, leaving Reims boss Will Still and Nice assistant Julian Sable the current favourites for the job.
