Howe issues exciting Sandro Tonali update in BeIN Sports interview – Watch here

In an interview with beIN Sports, Eddie Howe has revealed that Sandro Tonali is showing what a ‘top quality’ player he is in training, also praising his ‘absolutely brilliant’ mentality and improved English.

The Italian is ineligible to play from the end of October 2023 until August 2024, ruling him out of the first couple of games of the new season following  10-month ban for gambling.

This was obviously a huge blow, especially with Joe Willock, Joelinton and Elliot Anderson all out injured , but Howe has revealed that the midfielder has been good for the likes of Lewis Miley; the 17-year-olf sensation who can learn a lot from the former AC Milan star.

Howe believes Tonali has been very good for the players during training sessions and has remained on Tyneside other than a few days back in Italy, insisting he is working hard like every other member of the squad. Watch the clip below:

  1. Tonali owes the club and fans big time. How we could have done with him with all of the injuries we have sustained this season. We need one hell of a season from him in 24/25 to repay the club and fans
