It looks like Fabian Schar will be fine for Saturday’s trip to Arsenal, despite fears he’d suffered an injury in our 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.
The Swiss international was seen leaving the pitch in real pain last weekend, with Eddie Howe confirming after the game that he “twisted his wrist” while attempting to block a shot in stoppage time.
It would’ve been yet another freak injury for the club, but the club have released photos (see below) of the 32-year-old training normally on Wednesday afternoon.
Elsewhere, it’s hoped Alexander Isak and Joe Willock will also be available for selection at the Emirates on Saturday night, with Craig Hope revealing that both took part in training on Tuesday.
The likes of Nick Pope, Joelinton and Callum Wilson remain out with longer term injuries, but with Schar OK, Isak and Willock back in contention and Elliot Anderson and Matt Targett expected back in training soon, it feels like – touch wood – our squad could look much stronger in the coming weeks.
