Newcastle linked with £15m Argentine and 22-goal striker starring in Belgium

According to reports, Newcastle are keeping tabs on Argentinian duo Kevin Zenon and Nicolas Valentini, while Algerian sensation Mohamed Amoura has also been linked with a potential move to St James’ Park.

Starting in South America, Graeme Bailey (HITC) reports that Newcastle have sent scouts to watch Zenon and Valentini, who both play for Argentine giants Boca Juniors.

This isn’t the first time we’ve been linked with 22-year-old winger Zenon, but it’s believed we’ve also been keeping a close eye on Valentini; a 23-year-old centre-back who is thought to have a £15m release clause in his contract.

The 6ft 2′ defender is considered one of the most promising young defenders in Argentina and was called up to their senior squad for the first time last month. He’s a left-sided centre-back, which has suddenly become a position of focus following Sven Botman’s ACL injury.

Elsewhere, La Gazette du Fennec report that Newcastle and Arsenal have joined the race for Union SG star Mohamed Amoura.

The 23-year-old Algerian has been scoring goals for fun in the Belgian top flight this season. He’s netted 22 times in all competitions and bagged a goal and an assist in their 2-1 win over Liverpool in the Europa League.

Time will tell if anything comes of links to Zenon, Valentini and Amoura, but all three may fit our buying criteria as young, in-form talents likely to be available at reasonable fees this summer.
