Some bold claims have emerged from journalist Daniele Longo, who reports that Lloyd Kelly to Newcastle is a ‘done deal.’
The Italian reporter was one of the first to reveal that we’d beaten AC Milan to a deal for Sven Botman two years ago and is now claiming that Kelly has agreed a three-year deal that will keep him on Tyneside until 2027 as he prepares to leave Bournemouth as a free agent.
It really does seem a matter of when not if he signs at St James’ Park, allowing him to be reunited with Eddie Howe; the manager who brought him from Bristol City to Bournemouth five years ago.
See Longo’s tweets below, with the first translating to: ‘Kelly at @NUFC, done deal! Contract until 2027.’

Given his ability to fill in for the injured Sven Botman and offer Howe another option at left back, this could be a really smart signing if he can stay fit.

We need to be decisive in our transfer dealings. If the target is unsure after talking to the club……. Move on.
