Jim Ratcliffe is at it again. With Dan Ashworth still on gardening leave after Man Utd and Newcastle failed to agree terms over a compensation fee, the INEOS boss is not happy that he still hasn’t got his man.
Speaking to Bloomber News, he said: “I see no point in the gardening leave thing they have in football. Dan Ashworth is on one and a half years (of gardening leave).
“Jason Wilcox – we’ve had a very sensible conversation with Southampton and we have managed to find a solution to that – but Newcastle are just being very awkward and very difficult about Dan. Until you get the people in, it’s difficult to change (the club). It’s just frustrating.”
This isn’t the first time Jim has gone public with a dig at Newcastle and it’s not a great look for him or Man Utd; who still haven’t grasped that you have to pay up if you want to break a contract early.
After completing the London Marathon in April he moaned about ‘gardening leave’ when speaking to the BBC’s Gabby Logan and he made petty remarks in February too, saying it would be “completely absurd” and “stupid” for Ashworth to be sat doing nothing for the next 12-18 months, calling the whole situation “a bit silly.”
Pay up or shut up, Jim.

He is showing himself up. They must be wanting the Glaziers back.

So it’s “frustrating” that a direct rival is making it difficult for you to change your club, by giving you, arguably, the best executive in the Premier league?
Thats funny, how spoiled.
Also Jim you need to learn to understand when something is a “you” problem. This is one of those times, either pay up or shut up, you’re not going to guilt newcastle into giving up their rights on your terms.

What this shows is that journalists just fawn over Man Utd no matter what.
No questions asked about Berrada tapping up Ashworth via a INEOS email account despite being under contract to another club and not starting his job till the end of this month.
No questions about Ashworth replying whilst still under contract and not informing his club of said acceptance of job but looking very foolish when he posted his reply to not only Berrada but to his current bosses.
I’m sure I’m not the only one waiting for the press to ask these questions of a blatant breach of multiple club contracts.
As for Man U fans they wanted rid of the Glazers but instead have kept them and added a spiv who is totally comfortable with breaking rules and getting things done on the cheap.
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch of fans 😂

Radcliffe used to always getting his own way.
Can’t handle having his feathers ruffled.
But has no issue ruffling others for years.
