It’s been a busy weekend of transfer links both in and out, with reported interest in Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Max Kilman followed by talk of potential exits for Callum Wilson and Yankuba Minteh.
The Chronicle report that West Ham have enquired about a cash deal for Wilson, stating that our No.9 will be heading for the exit door if we make progress during talks to sign Calvert-Lewin
Lee Ryder states that Newcastle are looking to recoup around £18m for Wilson, who has a proven Premier League record but injury issues and just 12 months left on his current deal.
It seems increasingly likely that Minteh will be moved on for PSR reasons, with his agent revealing that he’s already agreed to terms with one club as Newcastle consider their offers following interest from Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Everton and Marseille.
However, The Chronicle insist that Elliot Anderson has “no desire” to leave after he was offered in a player-plus-cash bid for Wolves’ Max Kilman. It’s thought the Geordie talent is hoping to open talks over a new deal, reports Craig Hope.
Sky Sports’ Keith Downie reports that Calvert-Lewin is wanted and there’s hope a deal will be struck, but warns that there’s ‘quite a lot of work to do’ to agree a fee with Everton and personal terms with the player.
Newcastle are in talks with Everton over Dom Calvert-Lewin, as reported by @LukeEdwardsTele.
Newcastle are hoping to strike a deal for the striker — however there’s quite a lot of work to do agreeing both a fee & personal terms. Far from a done deal. Can also reveal that… pic.twitter.com/RWThn8M9wL

We definitely should not be trying to sign Calvert Lewin he is a has been and is no where good enough for us if we are to go to the next level Calvert Lewin is not up to the job he’s the sort of player we would have gone for in the past we really don’t want to be going back to them days so I hope those at the top don’t sign him he’s a liability that would see us going backwards as a club

Statistically, DCL is a worse player in the Premier League than Kelechi Iheanacho, who is available for free. I really hope this DCL talk is a smokescreen like the Barella rumours last year. Everyone thinks we’re in for DCL then BOOM! Tammy Abraham signs! Probably just wishful thinking….

Dcl is the perfect player for Newcastle, only big in Newcastle because there is no competition, they should be grateful a player of his status is being associated with them.

I can take a wild guess at what that A stands for my friend

Ian – I hope you’re right with Abraham mate. Think he’d be a good fit at Newcastle & a good replacement for Wilson

Is the club mad i would not sell minteh. He can only get better and better . That is why all these other clubs are hovering about . He will be a great player with Eddie’s guideness. They should sell Wilson (please do not replace with DCL AS HE’S **** ) Almiron, dubrafka, longstaff and trippier.
