Schar and Trippier start – Teams news from Germany ahead of England vs Switzerland

The team sheets are out ahead of today’s Euro quarter-final, where Gareth Southgate’s England take on Switzerland for a place in the semi-final against either Turkey or the Netherlands.

Here are the officials lineups ahead of the the 5pm kick-off on BBC One, seeing two Mags start:

England XI: Pickford – Walker, Stones, Konsa – Trippier, Rice, Mainoo, Saka – Bellingham, Foden – Kane.

Switzerland XI: Sommer – Schar, Akanji, Rodriguez – Reider, Freuler, Xhaka, Aebischer – Ndoye, Embolo, Vargas.

England have switched formation to a 3-4-2-1, with Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa replacing the suspended Marc Guehi in a back three, seeing Kieran Trippier move to right wing-back and Bukayo Saka switch to left wing-back.

Once again, Anthony Gordon is forced to settle for a place on the bench alongside Cole Palmer, but Newcastle United centre-back Fabian Schar continues in the Swiss side alongside Man City’s Manuel Akanji and former Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka.

We’ll need to be better to win this one, with the Swiss drawing with Germany in their final group game before making easy work of Italy in the last 16.

COME ON ENGLAND!
