Bruno Guimaraes issues personal statement – Dream on Man City, Arsenal and PSG…

Bruno Guimaraes has issued a brilliant message to Newcastle United fans on Saturday night, all but confirming he is going nowhere following previous links with a potential move away.

Prior to the Brazilian’s £100m release clause expiring at the end of June, we saw Man City, Arsenal and PSG all tipped to make a move for the former Lyon star. However, not only is the power in Newcastle’s hands over any sale and selling price, the player himself has revealed his full commitment

In a personal statement released on X (formerly ‘Twitter’), Bruno said: ‘I’m very happy to be starting another season with this club that has done so much for me since my first day here.

‘I’m glad to be back and more prepared than ever to have a brilliant season and to help Newcastle reach the highest possible position!’

Bruno also commented on wearing the captains armband for the first time in today’s pre-season clash with Yokohama, adding: ‘Another dream has come true! Being the captain of this team is everything I’ve always dreamed of but never imagined! We’re in this together, and I’m sure I’ll be more dedicated than ever to this badge’

Jus when we thought we couldn’t love Bruno any more, he delivers the update we’ve all been waiting for. What a player, what a bloke and what a relief it is to know he’s going nowhere this summer!

  1. Never doubted Bruno’s commitment to NUFC or feared that he’d leave this summer – likewise with Isak & Gordon for that matter.

If Trippier does leave then Bruno should absolutely take his place in that captaincy role.

  2. Turning down a move to Real Madrid, Arsenal, man city would show a clear lack of ambition this year. At the end of this coming season, Newcastle will finish outside the Champions League place, so he WILL move on next year.

  4. Are you kidding me, paper talk, not good enough for these teams. How about Newcastle finish in the top four. And Bruno has his best season, as captain, and he gets what he deserves. Good bloke and more.
