According to The Telegraph, Crystal Palace are demanding ‘in excess of £70m’ for Marc Guehi and look set to reject Newcastle’s latest £65m bid.
The Mail’s chief reporter Sami Mokbel also has the same information, revealing just moments ago that our fourth offer ‘needs improving’, leaving sporting director Paul Mitchell ‘considering his options.’
It was revealed earlier today that we’ve upped our third bid (£55m plus £5m in add-ons) to an overall package worth £65m including add-ons, but it’s still not enough as Palace continue to stand their ground.
Time will tell what we do next, but it really might be time to walk away and pursue other options. As good as Guehi is, he is not worth north of £70m; especially when he has less than two years left on his contract and would command a club-record fee, thus limiting our ability to also afford a top right-winger this summer.
Speaking to Sky Sports today, Palace boss Oliver Glasner confirmed Guehi looks set to start at Brentford on Sunday. “Marc trained today and we talked together. I will have to look at my bank account if something came in! But it doesn’t look like it so we have to plan with Marc. He is our player and our captain and I can’t tell you anything else.”
Newcastle's latest bid for Marc Guehi still not high enough for Palace to contemplate sale https://t.co/IthrydWHSl

Move on Not worth 65m imo never mind 70m+
Absolutely glorious(Quote)
Walk away. Quickly!
Gilly Toon(Quote)
Just tell Palace to do one and in no uncertain terms let them know that in future there will be no transfers between them. What the Hell is Mitchell doing here, has he no sense of embarrassment at the way this club has been treated and has been made to look? He should have put a cost in at the beginning showing the max. he’d go to.
If this is the way he works, letting a snake oil salesman. make him look stupid, he should be sacked.
Go and get a decent centre half now and use the lower fee to get Madeuke or Elanga.
If not this window will have been a disaster. Can’t see the PIF being impressed.

Right Newcastle that’s it walk away if he’s that good a player why haven’t the other top teams come in for him
Can you imagine Parish’s face if the ld gets a injury (I am not wishing this on any player) and say like Botman is out for the season next year the ld will only be worth half the fee and he will also have the chance to run his contract down and palace could get nothing
Dave(Quote)
This is absolute madness, he’s not cannavaro, Palace are mental to have dragged this out further, terrible business from them. And handled terribly by Parish and Mitchell too.
Please just walk away.

Got no issues with Palace standing their ground for the price they set (£65m) – but to move the goalposts once that valuation has been met is not cricket.
If Guehi wants to move it’s up to him & his agent to push Palace now we’ve met their price.
As for NUFC though, we should have walked after the 2nd offer imo – but now is defo time to look elsewhere – before time runs out.
Sharpy17(Quote)
As I said before in an earlier post Palace will be the ones who eventually miss out unless he stays with a team that will be going nowhere.
He should force the move if he wants to come or we move on, there are plenty of other mobile RHS centre backs and if we have alternatives we should go for it.
Parish said we had behaved well and done things properly, shame we can’t say the same about him.
Joseph(Quote)
Wait until Jan. His contract will be running down nicely then.
If Guehi is keen to go to Newcastle he simply declines any new contract talks with Crystal Palace. They’ll be gagging to offload him quick then.
Steve Venus(Quote)
He is not worth that kind of money while they shifted the goal poles. Let him rot in West ham. There are better defenders round the world for far less than 65M.

Going nowhere palace will finish above u this year geordie plank
Darren Pattison(Quote)
As much as I prefer to buy British and as
much as Chelsea arguably set the bar with what they paid for Fofana think it’s time to walk away if they have turned it down
Darren Bebb(Quote)
Oh dear can we book mark this Olly and email him at the end of the season to laugh t his stupidity 😂😂😂😂😂
Absolutely glorious(Quote)
About time to walk away, they said a price now they’ve up it again AGAIN JUST WALK AWAY NOW
ALAN(Quote)
Stinks of desperation at this point. Similar to Tino last season. Southampton sensed the desperation and stuck to their price. We eventually caved. Palace going by the same playbook. Can’t cave in again or all transfers will be like this. Walk away we have wasted weeks getting nowhere…

👍👏
Must have hit a reality nerve somewhere!
Joseph(Quote)
Yep, its getting silly now.
kimtoon(Quote)
Time to stop this nonsense and move onto whoever our 2nd target was and get him and a RWc and tell Parish to **** off
David(Quote)
A couple of things, firstly Guehi hasn’t put in a transfer request, so he doesn’t mind staying as club captain. Palace said they will look at all offers and if the money is right they will have a discussion with the player. What they did make clear was that Hire Purchase was not an option. A straight forward, sale at the right price..Newcastle know the price and the terms…why Newcastle chose to ignore and decided to try and horse trade is unclear. On this occasion barta is not acceptable, and is out of date. Get down your local Sunday boot sale for some serious practice.

Ron clown .. it’s called negotiations .. its barter not Barta😂🤡
Palace are run by a snake oil Del Boy who has just lost £65 million.. come January he will be crying .. they have lost a some good players and relegation battle looms
