After speaking to Sky Sports and the BBC earlier this week, Crystal Palace co-owner Steve Parish has been on talkSPORT this morning to discuss Marc Guehi’s future amid interest from Newcastle.
He’s confirmed that the 24-year-old looks set to start in today’s 2pm kick-off at Brentford, but accepts that “things may change” if they receive the “right bid” in the “right order” from Newcastle United.
Parish also confirmed that he’d had conversations with Paul Mitchell, revealing that he has an “incredible amount of time” for our newly appointed sporting director.
It may be a tactic of his to push Newcastle to make another bid, but Parish also told talkSPORT that Palace have also held talks with “other clubs” over a potential deal. Watch what he had to say below:
The fee has to be right – for Newcastle, not just Palace – but it feels like a deal is there to be done, with Parish going public once again and speaking like a man who is very much open to striking a deal.

I would tell Parish to shove it where the sun doesn’t shine and wouldn’t even entertain Anderson or any other player from Palace.
Moving the goal post is not how you conduct business.

Starting to sound a bit desperate now it looks like we have moved on.
All through these negotiations he’s been leaking titbits to the media in the vain hope another club will come in and start a bidding war. Well they haven’t, walk away and come back in Jan for a vastly reduced price.

I wouldn’t go back in January, wouldn’t give Parish the hard skin off my feet, he is just playing to the press.
