Newcastle agree QPR loan, Gordon wanted and forgotten man could still leave – Report

According to Craig Hope, Newcastle have agreed a loan deal with QPR that will allow Harrison Ashby to spend the remainder of the season at Loftus Road.

In his latest piece for The Mail, he also reveals that Arsenal expressed an interest in Anthony Gordon, but the winger is going nowhere and has held preliminary talks over a new deal at the club.

It’s believed Gordon is settled on Tyneside with his young family, loves working with Eddie Howe and has plenty of backing from Paul Mitchell, despite being on the radar of Arsenal’s Edu.

Elsewhere, Ryan Fraser could join Ashby in sealing a late loan move to the Championship, although his future is less clear while he remains on a hefty pay packet at Newcastle after failing to secure a return to previous loan club Southampton.

Back to Ashby, it will be his second spell in the Championship after he spent last season with Swansea.
