Newcastle United have offered a scholarship deal to Mason Miley; the younger brother of Lewis and Jamie who has been playing for our Under-18s so far this season.
The 15-year-old, like his brothers, plays in midfield for our youth side and has been a key asset in his six appearances for the team, who have so far won two, drawn two and lost five.
Miley confirmed the offer on his Instagram, meaning that Newcastle will retain the three brothers for the foreseeable future. The Chronicle reveal that Newcastle staff are ‘delighted’ with Mason’s progress so far, with Lewis describing his youngest brother as ‘one to watch’ in a previous interview.
Hopefully Mason can follow in the footsteps of Lewis, who has proved to be a special talent and recently returned from a broken foot with his first call-up to the England U21 side.
Jamie is currently on loan at League Two club Newport County where he got off to a difficult start after requiring surgery in September, but has since made his debut at the end of last month.
Footballing talent clearly runs in the family and as local boys it would be great to see all three of them work their way up to the first-team.
