According to Sky Sports, Newcastle have registered an interest in Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo ahead of the January transfer window.
Newcastle have been in the market for a right-winger for some time now and appear to have been impressed by the Ghanaian’s form on the South Coast, where he’s shone under under Andoni Iraola with four goals and an assist this season.
Sky Sports report that he’s attracting plenty of interest – Liverpool are also thought to be admirers of the 24-year-old – although it seems PSR may complicate any move to St James’ Park in the New Year.
They state that Newcastle are ‘unlikely’ to bring in new signings in January unless players are moved on first, with the club reluctant to enter the summer in a position where sales are essential before the June deadline.
With that in mind, all eyes may turn to fringe men we could look to move on this winter, with Miguel Almiron tipped to depart and a decision needing to be made on Callum Wilson as he approaches the final six months of his contract at the club.Others facing uncertain futures include the likes of Martin Dubravka, Matt Targett and Kieran Trippier.
Semenyo would tick plenty of boxes as a two-footed, dynamic and Premier League proven winger who could improve the right side of our attack, although he would not come cheap following his impressive start to the season at Eddie Howe’s former club.

The prem League is full of jeopardy .. everyone can beat each other .. look at city !.. I hope this is a one off though it looked a bit like the start of the season when we were lucky in games that we were struggling .. the next three games will see if we are becoming a mid table outfit under Howe’s third year or wether we are consistent and can fight for Europe ..
