After confirming a large-scale supporter event would take place on Saturday 29th March, Newcastle United have now offered full details of next weekend’s Town Moor victory party.
The free open-air event will hand supporters the chance to see Eddie Howe and the squad with the Carabao Cup for the very first time since last Sunday’s magical win at Wembley.
However, it is a ticketed event with priority access to those for season ticket holders and members, suggesting some will go into a ballot and many will miss out. It’s hard to organise such a huge event on short notice, but this does feel like a massive shame. Here are the details:
Toon reveal plans for Town Moor event
The free to attend fan event will take place from 4-8pm on Saturday 29th March – next weekend – and it promises to be a day to remember for the club and city.
Newcastle have revealed that the event will feature a DJ, live band, some highlights of our ‘Road to Wembley, special guests yet to be confirmed and a screening of the full cup final!
Eddie Howe and the players will also lift the Carabao Cup trophy on the stage and a ‘spectacular show’ will be put on by Saudi sponsor Sela, with more details to follow on that.
How to register your interest
The club are asking fans to register their interest for this huge event, offering the following windows for fans to do so:
‘Supporters must register their interest to attend at book.newcastleunited.com.
Phased priority period for fans to register interest:
- Friday, 21st March, from 1pm – season ticket holders
- Friday, 21st March, from 3pm – Mags/Mags + Members
- Saturday, 22nd March, from 10am – all other supporters
Once your priority period opens you will have the opportunity to register your interest until midnight on Sunday, 23rd March.
Registration is one per supporter number. Adults will be able to add one junior ticket to their registration with the adult supporter number.
Registrations must be submitted via book.newcastleunited.com. No email/telephone/in-person registrations can be accepted.
Registering your interest does not guarantee you access to the event. Further details will follow to those that register their interest with the club.
We do expect traffic to the website to be high and thank our supporters in advance for their patience.’

Should have done a bus parade I’m not bothered about seeing Sam fender

Liam – agreed mate. It would have made sense to have an open top bus do the route of Blaydon Races.
Blaydon, along Scotwood Rd, through Newcastle & finish in SJP.
Either way though, to limit it feels wrong to me.

Wanted to enjoy this moment with my full family of Newcastle supporters from my son age 5 to my dad age 75 but only, should be a city event with a bus parade.

Booked rail tickets on Monday to come down from Scotland for this special day and occasion. Now disappointed at this news. Should of been a parade through the city.

Should at least do a bus parade round the city centre 1st…….
What about all those who can’t get tickets?
Feels like it just more of a way to make money on food & drink……

This is wrong, we need an open top bus parade, we’ve waited years for this

This is wrong this is not in the ground, it’s a reason for the whole of the region to get together people of all ages are wanting to celebrate the season ticket holders have had their day at Wembley and I am speaking as someone who had a season ticket for over 30 year give everybody a chance to see their hero’s I was all for having it in one place but not like this if it is to be like this why not have a bus parade and then finish up at the town moor.

Gutted if there is no bus parade first, this was possibly a onc in a lifetime thing for Newcastle and all geordies. We wouldn’t have missed it for the world. Gutted.

This is all wrong if it doesn’t also include an open top bus parade for all fans to attend where they can. How can you tell only one grandson he can go but not the other! I’m foaming

bloody ridiculous i am a ST holder, living in nottingham.
wanted to bring my 13 year old grandaughter up for the festivities

Well that was a complete waste of time. I thought a parade was where an open top bus would venture around Newcastle? Now it’s turned into a huge event where you can’t even get tickets. What an absolute shambles where tickets are free but only to season ticket holders?? My 9 year old son will be disappointed.

I’ve getting an email confirming but also saying not guaranteed a ticket, and I’m a season ticket holder. My wife and 2 daughters wanted to go, there going to try tomorrow’s ballot, hopefully they’ll be lucky. Think the club’s made a mess of this .

I truly thought it would be a parade through the City on a Sunday .Roads were closed for Champions League so why not on the biggest occasion. 70 years we’ve waited .Open top bus tradition .For all Newcastle supporters family friends children .We could have shown the world .

Waited all my life for this. Was outside the civic centre receprion when we won promorion from 1st Division under Keegan. To not have a big City bus parade for ALL fans who have been lifelong supprters, for everyone to celebrate the team and feel the Euphoria. Looks like the feeling and passion has been lost here. Really dissappointed as a lifelong fan who has been in the old stands in wind, rain, snow amongst 13000 supporters….true fan now wondering why when those in hierarchy dont seem to care!
Peter Robson(Quote)
Would have preferred a bus parade through the city, would’ve been fab, everyone from a young age to elderly would have got the chance to celebrate, we live lincolnshire and was gona come to the city but don’t think will stand a chance now , as it has turned into a ticket event
Janice Denwood(Quote)
I’m coming from Leeds to Newcastle next weekend and now not even going through the city. Surely they have to set off from SJP so I’m going there first
Marc Le Grand(Quote)
Well, they’ve well and truly called this plumb wrong. Open top bus, why ever not?
davewallace(Quote)
Well thankyou Newcastle council police and NUFC.
We are United i was there best day of my life as many others.
I am still raging at the fact it’s not in the City .Then to know even if register you aren’t guaranteed a place .This has really upset me and is NOT what the fans and others that wanted to celebrate with us want !
MH(Quote)
Why oh why have they changed the format. Every team has used an open top bus to allow everyone to see the team and the cup. Why this so called presentation on the town moor, in the mud, no where to park, listening to some DJ I don’t know and being fleeced by the stall holders for **** food. Newcastle you have made a huge mistake and many will not stand for it and go to SJP and other of the cities pubs, shame on you all
Tom Bland(Quote)
Trust NUFC to ruin the mood. Euphoria replaced by anger and disappointment. I thought the club were big on inclusion? This is the opposite, wrong so wrong.
Davy Gee(Quote)
What an appalling decision to not have a bus parade!! Bus parades are traditional and by far the best way to allow the general population to applaud the team as they make their way through the suburbs. Have the Town Moor event at the end of the bus parade but not instead of. The people responsible for this shambolic decision should hang their heads in shame and resign immediately for being incompetent!
Stephen Varty(Quote)
This is not acceptable, the people of Newcastle have waited a lifetime for this and feel robbed of being able to see the team. An open top bus would give everyone the chance to see it.
They need a rethink on this decision.
