This summer’s transfer window will be broken into a few sections, increasing Newcastle’s need to have their ducks in line if we wish to strike early.
The first window comes between the 1st and 10th June, followed by a pause for the Club World Cup, with the window then reopening on 16th June; kicking off a potential chaotic fortnight for sides looking to avoid any PSR breaches.
After June, clubs will then have a clear run across July and August before the summer window shuts on Monday 1st September at 7pm.
A busy few months await, and it sounds like Newcastle United are in a strong position to strike.
Club insider issues exciting message
Earlier today, The Telegraph revealed that Newcastle are ready to step up their interest in top targets Bryan Mbeumo and Marc Guehi, with the same piece included an exciting message from a ‘well-placed source’ at the club.
A unnamed club insider has informed the Telegraph that ‘shortlists have been drawn up’, top targets identified and a budget set, also issuing this message that was relayed in Luke Edwards’ piece:
“Everything is in place, all the work that has been done on players has been finished and now we have to push the button and get those deals done. We know who we want”, revealed the club source.
They also insisted that Newcastle’s summer plans are “good-to-go”, stating that a “business as usual” stance remains despite news of Paul Mitchell’s imminent departure after months of transfer meetings.
Mbeumo and Guehi would mark perfect start
It won’t be easy, but moves for Mbeumo and Guehi could mark an incredible start to the summer should we pull it off.
It feels like the club want to act quickly and decisively from a position of strength, with our PSR position much improved and the offer of Champions League football also making us an even more attractive proposition.
Hopefully Palace agree to a compromise now Guehi is approaching the final 12 months of his deal. If not, I’m sure the club will look to avoid another public bidding saga and pursue other targets, but he would be a smart signing given his age (24), Premier League experience, ability to play in both centre-bac roles and leadership.
Mbeumo is wanted by Man Utd, but it’s thought the Red Devils’ attention is currently on a £62.5m move for Matheus Cunha. Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked with the Brentford winger, but would he receive regular starts at those clubs when Mo Salah and Bukayo Saka are nailed on starters?
Strike early for the Cameroonian and we may just have one of the most feared front threes in England heading into 2025/26.

Just can’t see Guehi happening, Palace are in Europe no need to sell and Parish is T****r,
we should have learnt our lesson from the last window would prefer Tomori.
Mbuemo perhaps because of his versatility.

I disagree…Palace have a player who will go for free next summer.. that is the need when it comes to selling.
Totally agree on parish ..he probably thinks the price has gone up instead of down but has he got the balls to bluff us knowing it could cost him tens of millions?

Darren Jerry:- Guehi doesn’t have to leave he can run his contract down and get mega bucks Real Madrid, Barcelona, Liverpool or Chelsea.

The thing is Parish only owns 10% of Palace so really doesn’t have a controlling say in what happens. He does on the other hand like the press lime light and loves to say 💩 all the time.
It came out after the summer (Eddie even saying it) that the figure we offered was nowhere near the ones Parish mentioned so again talking 💩 and trying to get a auction going.
Personally I wouldn’t buy the lad as I don’t rate him esp. when it comes to defending high balls into the box.

Not interested, prefer Ousmane Diomande from Sporting.
Mbeumo on the other hand would be perfect. Still Bakayoko would be a decent option.
