Newcastle United are weighing up a move for Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz.
Having seen £30m target Liam Delap opt for Chelsea after holding talks with several interested parties, Newcastle are exploring alternatives in search of Callum Wilson’s likely replacement.
This has seen the club take a close look at Muniz, who could leave Craven Cottage this summer as the Brazilian’s representatives explore possible options.
We can reveal that Newcastle met with the 24-year-old’s camp last month over a potential move, with two other Premier League clubs also in contact.
Muniz scored 11 goals in all competitions last season after netting 10 during the 2023/24 campaign, and has previously been linked with Chelsea and Spurs.
The former Flamengo talent is currently on a low wage at Fulham and would not break the bank in that respect, adding to his appeal when lucrative packages may be needed in our hunt for a starting right winger, centre-back and goalkeeper.
Fulham will be reluctant to lose the South American and won’t allow him to leave on the cheap, but Newcastle could have scope to negotiate a reasonable fee now he’s approaching the final 12 months of his contract. It is not clear, however, if they have an option to extend by a further year.
Whether Wilson stays or not – the chances of the 33-year-old remaining on Tyneside are unlikely – the club must bring in fresh competition for Alexander Isak ahead of the 2025/26 season, and Muniz is an option who ticks several boxes, providing the price is right.

Interesting pick .. though has suffered game time with Boro and Fulham through knee injuries ..transfermkt have him at € 20 million.., possible upgrade on osulu but maybe not a top class recruitment
