Newcastle fans saw Anthony Elanga touch down on Tyneside earlier this week.
A deal was agreed on Monday – £52m rising to a possible £55m – and he landed via private jet on Tuesday before completing his medical on Wednesday ahead of his imminent move from Nottingham Forest.
Thursday is here and we’re yet to get an ‘official’ announcement, but a leaked photo appears to have confirmed that the Swedish international has already met some of his new Toon teammates.
In a post shared on social media by Newcastle fan @Im_RobM, the picture below appears to show Elanga in the changing rooms at the club’s training base, meeting the likes of Jacob Murphy and Harvey Barnes:
Elanga is set to sign a five-year deal at the club, with a full announcement on his arrival expected in the next few hours.
The 23-year-old plays with Alexander Isak at international level, is close friends with Will Osula and enjoyed his best season yet last term, bagging six goals and 12 assists for Forest.
