Newcastle’s summer window has been a shambles and it needs saving, quickly.
Alexander Isak wants out and we’ve just lost out on James Trafford to Man City, forcing us to up the ante in other departments with two strikers now needed if the Swede departs.
Talks for Yoane Wissa continue with Brentford over a £35m+ deal, but widespread reports have emerged on our big push to sign Benjamin Sesko as a potential Isak replacement.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein has confirmed the RB Leipzig star is a ‘top target’ as we look to react in fear of losing Isak, with the 6ft 5′ Slovenian a long-standing target.
Fabrizio Romano adds that we are ready to ‘go big’ in a bid to sign the 22-year-old, with Toon chiefs set to present the project to the striker who was considered by Arsenal before they opted for Viktor Gyokeres instead.
TalkSPORT’s Ben Jacobs has also revealed that we are working to agree a deal with the player himself today, holding talks on Friday over personal terms.
Jacobs adds that a bid is imminent for the £60m-rated striker, but insists it is not an easy deal to complete based on the finances involved and structure of payments RB Leipzig are likely to demand.
Isak leaving is a huge blow, if it happens, but reacting quickly and landing Sesko and Wissa in his place for a combined £100m would go a long way to replacing his goals.

I’m not too happy with going after sesko. The bundesliga is more like a farmers league nowadays. The 20th best team in premier league would probably challenge for Europe in the German league. Havertz, werner, nkunku all came with big reps and produced absolutely nothing.
Evanilson or the wolves striker would be my preference. Or osimhen

Basically Im surprised at the PIF and Saudis and thought that they were supposed to business men but when it comes to running a football club they are totally different. Even Sunderland acknowledge the need to sign players and they are querying small discounts and just get the players signed i.e. for an extra 5m we could have had Trafford by now.
A friend of mine who is a SMB reckons that the saudis have lost interest in NUFC and we will implode this season and watch this space …..

No amount of money could buy trafford as man city had a buy back clause .. mbuemo, Pedro,
Delap all chose to go to other clubs .. isak has not said he wants to leave nor has his agent or the club confirmed ..isak has 3 years on his contract .the cards are with the club .. there is no shambles just ill informed hysteria fanned by the client media and story tellers in the media .. Elanga has signed we cleared out a few players bought some excellent youngsters and bidding for wissa and sesko plus talks with juve and Atlanta regarding defensive cover ..like scalvini.. if Isak leaves..if..,we have another £150 million for Eddie to spend .. no shambles just attempts to find players in a competitive market .. ignore the fake media Newcastle are in a very strong position and players who improve the squad will arrive
Blunderland fans commenting should stick to their own shambolic scattergun recruitnent😂🙈

ISAK came from the Bundesliga.
Ed(Quote)
He didnt do great at Dortmund and we signed him from Real Sociedad
Pablo Blanco(Quote)
Exactly, he didn’t do well in the “farmers league” so had to go to Spain instead.
German football is decent enough, how did we do when we played Dortmund twice? They are no mugs.

Is loosing ISAK that bad? For a “world class” striker, he has difficulty beating goalkeepers on a one to one basis, his goal tally is boosted by penalties (with the odd miss) and his health is a bit of a concern. For someone hailed as world class, he should be representing his country more often than he does. How often has he had to pull out of squads? Perhaps he is starting to show the frailties that the departed Mr. Wilson showed? Take the money now!!

There’s a lot of truth in what you’ve posted there John. I would also like to point out that he’s not a 90 minute player,he always looks like he’s blowing after 70/75 minutes. I’d be happy to have Wissa and Sesko to replace Isaac if he’s not committed to NUFC

Obviously.we are in pole position regarding isak on transfer negotiating .
Isak has left us with very little room for replacement
This has left a sour Taste
And shows his true colors to the fans .
We take the fee we feel is correct
After Isak puts it in writing for a transfer
Not before
2 can tango
Thereafter rebuild stronger
With willing team members
PIf get into the game !!
Appoint people who are Qualified

Football is football and things move on, its not the end of the world!
The problem we do have is Eddie and his nephew are Howepless at the transfer business!
To think he was able to talk the chairman into giving him the reins, ridiculous.

Suppose you want Wilson back instead.

I agree Isak is not a 90minutes player. On some occasions I have failed to find him in any position yo receive the ball and score. I agree he can’t go round goalkeepers or win one to one with them. I have never gelled with him unlike Gordon, Bruno, Joelinton, Livramento. They show they play for the shirt. Isak plays for his own glory. Without Gordon and Murphy feeding him excellent crosses his goal tally would be as high. So for me replace him. Send him on his way for money and glory. He will NOT leave legacy at our football club. Only a cloud that he dumped on the club, owners, Eddie and us fans. Thanks a lot you selfish Isak.

150 mill for Isak , I thought was a gamble when we brought him for 64mill.As much as I hate losing him , he will make us stronger , Get Wissa Osihmen we will b much stronger & its an upgrade not injury prone.

PIF need to sort out sporting director and CEO, a rudderless club with no leadership at the top, the whole thing is shambolic and I think we will struggle this season.
I also believe this Premier league PSR is rubbish, clubs spending like no tomorrow and selling assets back to themselves and yet we are. Continually scrutinised over every penny, it’s rubbish and it’s so unfair let’s not forget that this is the root cause of our problems, we can’t grow because we just won’t be allowed to.
We need a proper purpose built recruitment and negotiating dept to focus multiple people across multiple target areas and each with their own budgetary targets and decision makers, Eddie is there to coach not recruit, the whole thing is utter rubbish.
Unless drastic action taken I do worry this season, I don’t see much than mid table at best, hope I’m wrong and I hope the club proves me wrong.

John said what I’ve been saying for a while. Isak is overrated, he has missed a lot of chances,if we could get £130 million for him I would snap their hands off.
All he has done is his job, what he is paid for.
If I do my job I don’t get my wages tripled for doing it well

Based on reports of weekly salaries, Delap £175k, Ekitike £250k, Mbueno £200k, best we avoided those mercenaries…we have made mistakes, we looked at Wharton for ages, let him go to Palace, likewise with Gyokeres at Coventry, should have got Ekitike 2nd time around when he left PSG, and Pedro when at Watford. We have done some great work, we just need to stay calm, get a few quality players in.
Wissa is 29 next month, but we can’t keep trying to get younger players all the time, just pay the £35 million, he will be great for 3+ years.
