This summer transfer window has been an absolute mess from start to finish and must show signs of life and serious ambition if we wish to salvage it over the next few weeks.
Sadly, it looks like the chaos will continue in our search for new strikers, as there has been a concerning update on Benjamin Sesko’s future and another Premier League striker linked.
Confirming our exclusive that we brought to you at NUFCBlog back in early June, The Mail’s Craig Hope has revealed that Fulham forward Rodrigo Muniz is now being eyed up.
It’s believed Newcastle have made an ‘enquiry’ about the Brazilian. No ‘high-level talks’ have taken place as of yet for the 24-year-old, with a £40m transfer fee mooted should we up our interest in the 24-year-old.
Newcastle need two strikers if Alexander Isak is to leave and the top target to replace him has been RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko. But, according to Hope, sources on Tyneside now fear the Slovenian is ‘likely’ to end up at Man Utd instead.
This would be yet another major blow and source of ‘huge frustration’ at Newcastle, with Toon officials very keen to land the 22-year-old after long-term interest
Hope states that we are still pursuing Sesko and continue to work on a deal for Brentford’s Yoane Wissa, but two other options could come back into focus should the Leipzig star end up at Old Trafford.
Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins is one, with the England international shortlisted by Newcastle, while Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson is another one to watch.
It is reported that the Senegalese striker is a few names down Newcastle’s list, however. It would not surprise us if Wissa is deemed the ideal Wilson replacement, with Muniz in reserve, with Sesko, Watkins and Jackson the potential pecking order should Isak depart.

We really are S… at doing business.
I an honestly see other players bailing out.

I AGREE Howe out.

Just cannot fathom these nut cases wanting to bin Howe. Nufc heirarchy still operating like a pub team,we will get there but things take time, there will be many blips along the way & the so called top six will do everything in their power to thwart us. Keep the faith. If Isac wants to go then so be it, a great shame but we wiĺ rebuild with the cash if the choices are right.

Growth pains unfortunately. PIF are learning some hard lessons that you cannot have a rudderless club off the pitch. Theyve been schooled this summer. Not decisive when Eales announced needing to step down. Should have seen the Mitchell walk a mile away being Eales man. They shouldnt have gotten rid of Mandy so hastily on Eales say so. All a bit of a mess. To blame Howe etc for trying to recover the mess left after Mitchell is a bit wrong. Mitchell was brought in to sort transfer policy and has walked. What exactly was he paid to do for 12 months apart from upsetting our best player and our Head Coach? Mitchell will go down as one of our worst appointments ever.

I think Muniz is a good player and would enhance our team in the normal scheme of things.
This is not the normal scheme of things though and it now looks like Howe has finally been exposed.
He has done a brilliant job for Newcastle but is now struggling to take it any further.
The sad fact is that even having a faded force like Mourinho at the club would have more chance of attracting players than Howe ever could!
One of the factors in attracting a player can be the manager and Howe isn’t really that well known outside of England and even in England still seen as a come through the ranks lower league man made good.
X.Y,WHY,MAN.(Quote)
So Mourinho would suddenly make the club pay north of £250. O00 a week for players. Think you should stick to Spot the Dog.

Exactly…It’s about money. Simple as that. It amazes me people can’t grasp something so incredibly obvious. Astonishing really. Psr folks

We need 3 or 4 strikers to compete in Europe. If we are only going for 2 then we will fail as we did last time in Europe.
