The Alexander Isak saga has taken another almighty twist on Tuesday night.
The Swede has tonight released a statement about his desire to leave the club, claiming “promises have been broken” from Newcastle United’s side.
He claims that the “relationship can’t continue”, with the post pushing his bid to leave the club over the next fortnight as he doubles down on his plans to depart.
Read the Instagram post in full tonight, which sees the 25-year-old react to the rumours for the very first time after he opted not to attend tonight’s PFA awards ceremony:
“I’m proud to be recognised by my fellow professionals with a place in the PFA Premier League Team of the Season for 2024/25.
“First and foremost I want to thank my teammates and everyone at Newcastle United who has supported me along the way.
”I’m not at the ceremony tonight. With everything going on, it didn’t feel right to be there.
”I’ve kept quiet for a long time while others have spoken. That silence has allowed people to push their own version of events, even though they know it doesn’t reflect what was really said and agreed behind closed doors.
”The reality is that promises were made and the club has known my position for a long time. To now act as if these issues are only emerging is misleading.
“When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship can’t continue. That’s where things are for me right now – and why change is in the best interests of everyone, not just myself.
Alexander Isak.”

He said in March in an interview that he would be negotiating a new contract in the summer,, don’t care if his price drops, don’t sell him this window and definitely not to Liverpool

Hope his lawyer is better than his agent.
Nufc need to fight this one and win. Sue him for lost league position, breach of contract, damage to the nufc and pif brand, legal expenses, lost revenue, and lost selling price (by releasing this statement he lowers his selling price massively because he says he isnt going back). Eg he damages his own value (if he play hard to get then his price increases)
Let him leave but Throw the book at him. Delay his ability to play for Liverpool (while entangled in legal dispute etc).
Show players that nobody is bigger than 100,s years of legacy and club history.

All set up with Lpool and his super dodgy agent obviously
He’s getting a sweat on now with the deadline approaching. Which is more than we could have said for him in all those half effort performances after the cup final tbf….

If you think about ‘promises’ – the club knew Wilson was leaving, or moving down to 3rd choice striker at best with osula then probably going on loan. Can I imagine nufc saying they would consider selling if they weren’t in the CL, had their valuation met, and had 2 strikers bought – one top level? Yes. But none of those conditions have been met, and as we all keep saying…He has 3 whole years left on his contract. There’s no way we would have basically promised him an unconditional sale – no club would do that with an Isak level player in these circumstances, it would be completely undermining yourself
This is more self serving nonsense from the pure rat

What an absolute cluster ****.
This is absolutely pointing the finger squarely at the SLT team at NUFC, that’s across the boardroom.
Now what does this mean, was he promised a new contract? Was he promised that he was allowed to leave? The specifics are yet to be determined, but I’m beginning to wonder what has gone on since Amanda & her husband left. Additionally, I’m beginning to wonder if Paul Mitchell has lot more to answer for & if he wasn’t pushed as a result of the damaged relationship with Alex.
The only thing I will say, I still have questions about the timeline of this, if the club knew his stance, why would they release the new kit pictures with him? Surly if they knew his stance, they wouldn’t do that, they would be more proactive…. Well, assuming there’s a decent leadership structure from the top down. Re future….
I don’t know what the solution is, if we let him leave would be absolutely suicidal…. Not even Mike Ashley is that dumb?….

Well if we as a club – or individuals – acted in a dishonourable way it’s nowhere near as dishonourable as the slimey Liverpool Echo (with the knowledge of LFC) drumming up talk of Gordon to Liverpool for months on end last season, and Isak for weeks on end this summer.
And it still sounds like Isak is acting like a spoilt baby. First world problems, mate.
If hypothetically Real Madrid or PSG or Barca offers 112M for Isak, and Liverpool 120M I’d take the offer from abroad.

(but, yes, never liked the look of Paul Mitchell either)

Get Al Hilal back to offer £150m and call his bluff, relationship can’t continue? No worries pal, off you go then to the only club that met the asking price, tooo-da-looo now.

I am so done with this p rick now.
What a pile of utter **** that statement is. IF it’s true then it means Eddie knew and has been misleading the fans .
Fact is Eddie would never do that as he has integrity something Isak lacks.
Also if the club and Isak knew he was going then why have all the new kit pics done and promo stuff ?
Why only put out a statement about exploring options once Ekitike and other strikers were bought? because he had an understanding with Pool that’s why. He’s been instructed to throw the whole works at it to engineer a move. It’s VVD and the saints all over again.
Tell you what Alex, lets have names ,dates and times of these so called promises, but you won’t will you, you little snake.

The reason Isak hasn’t been specific is he knows he’s being economical with the truth
If Staveley did promise him a new contract last summer then it definitely doesn’t excuse Isaks pathetic behaviour, but she was wrong – and Mitchell was right. I love Staveley for getting us the takeover but she was too emotional if she did that
Go back to last summer. Isak was less than 2 years into a 6 year contract. His 1st season he did pretty well, but Wilson was our main striker, Isak had a lot of injury problems. His 2nd season he was great but a new contract after 1 good year, with 4 left, being one of the top earners already and the club having (unluckily) missed Europe and in terrible psr difficulties (selling anderson, minteh and not being able to buy) was a dangerous precedent to make. Mitchell saying ‘have another great year and we will sort your contract in summer 25’ was the right call. Of course, the £200k per week isn’t as nice as £300k + at Lpool and that’s the real issue for the rat 🐀

Contract = promise, assurance or undertaking by one party to do something in exchange for something else to be delivered by another party or parties.
With that in mind, and In the cold light of day; the only party who has broken the promise, entered into under form of contract, and without undue duress is
A. Isak. The message to him by the club should be simple: honour the promise.
This personal statement is clearly ill advised (mini cab driver agent again?). Grow up Alex, grow a spine, learn some humility, understand what it means to act with integrity and honour your promise; or if not, suffer the consequences.

Imagine keeping quiet all summer then choosing to speak out the week we play the team he wants to sign for?!?!!!.
Imagine his teammates and manager trying to prepare for that game and you release this statement

I think the lad is likely a Narcissist, imagine being so full of yourself that you issue a statement like that at the same time the PFA awards are made, the timing of the statement aligning perfectly with the announcement that Salah has won again.
Now he takes the back page space diminishing what should rightfully be Salahs’ big moment.
Well him painting himself to be the perpetual victim means he’ll fit right in with the Scousers I suppose.
kimtoon(Quote)
Isak then why haven’t u handed in a transfer request? Is it bcuz your agent said you would lose your bonus. But you refuse to train with the team. How honourable of you!!! I really hope you NOT SOLD and ROT in the reserves!!! Than we will see how you will begging us to play again!!!!
Wolfie(Quote)
Loving the club’s response which I’m more inclined to believe than the Swedish rats version
I actually at one point in this sorry affair thought we could integrate him back into the team but he can f### off now and definitely don’t sell him to Liverpool.
I’m actually surprised they aren’t swarming all over this site the obsessed 💩 heads

Can’t really blame someone for wanting to move to a bigger club. Careers are short and you want to make the most of it if you can.
RealAlanShearer(Quote)
In my opinion, Newcastle should absolutely not sell him. Let him languish training with the squad, without playing for the U-21s or any other Newcastle team. In January, we’ll sell him for whatever is offered, but let him be bitter, and I feel contempt for his actions and for not honoring this shirt!

Fee fi fo fum, I smell the blood of a mackems scum
Absolutely glorious(Quote)
He has not put in a transfer request which constitutes a breach of contract and the club can stop payments and bonuses
There is no evidence that Paul Mitchell or Amanda offered him a new contract .. indeed Howe stated that at the end of this season they would renegotiate a better contract ., which he declined
Newcastle have a 3 year contract it’s upto them wether they wish to sell …
Isak and his agent are now desperate and are resorting to lies
Isak can continue to refuse to play but two weeks wages (280k) should be deducted every time he does until he apologised .. otherwise sell him to anyone but Liverpool .. he needs to be taught a lesson and a message to others clubs and supporters are more important than one greedy player
Mike(Quote)
Agree I also think we said he could leave if the asking price was met, it wasn’t he expected us to just except the low ball offer and because we didn’t he’s had a massive teenage strop.
F### him and his agent.
Absolutely glorious(Quote)
Accept ffs Olly you really need a edit button on this site
Absolutely glorious(Quote)
😂😂😂. Can’t blame him at all. But ‘want’s’ don’t matter. He also has to take the blame for signing a contract which still has 3 years to run, and the blame for not turning up to work for weeks. Which are the important things…as you know
East Stand(Quote)
This troll is correct, we can’t blame him for wanting to move to a club that are further along the journey than we are, probably 5 years ahead of us as it stands, that are in a position to challenge for titles and champions league etc, but there is a way to go about it, as this and every other troll making a similar statement is well aware. Liverpool know what it would take for him to get his move but they seem unwilling to meet the asking price. The only ones blocking the move are Liverpool.
