Newcastle’s search for strikers rumbles on and a new name has been linked with a potential move to St James’ Park today.
The Mail’s Craig Hope reports that the club are now exploring ‘two or three’ strikers options, knowing they can’t wait for Yoane Wissa forever after Brentford rejected our second offer worth £40m earlier this week.
The DR Congo star remains a target, but Newcastle wants ‘answers today’ and have been discussing another option in Atletico Madrid giant Alexander Sorloth.
Sorloth is a 6ft 4″ Norwegian international who has just come off the back of a superb season in Spain, where he netted 24 goals in all competitions for Diego Simeone’s side before featuring in the Sela Cup at St James’ Park two weeks ago.
It’s believed the 29-year-old former Crystal Palace man has come into the conversation, with alternative options needed now a deal for Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen also coming with complications.
Hope insists that Wolves do NOT want to sell their star striker, which is to be expected when they have just 10 days left of the summer window to find a replacement, having already sold Mathues Cunha already this summer.
Reports in the Midlands indicated yesterday that we were pushing to sign the 25-year-old, who is also from Norway, although it seems, much like Wissa, it won’t be a simple deal to get done at this stage of the window.

With all the distraction in the media I can’t see is signing anyone tbh. Might just have to make do until January when it’s all blown over.

Sell Isak and I guarantee you’ll sign someone immediately afterwards. At the moment the whole country thinks NUFC is in the wrong and no ones going to want to come to that toxic environment. Cut your losses, manage your expectations and move on.

Seriously, can we not add some sort of security to these blog posts? Like one of them I am not a robot things. Pictures of food and rats would do, scousers wouldn’t be able to tell the difference

The whole country does not think that. The overwhelming majority of pundits who have weighed in on the matter think Isak and his agent and in particular Liverpool, are the ones who are acting inappropriately, you clown.

How exactly can you guarantee that? Also any chance of your tap up merchants putting in a serious offer matching the valuation?
Johnny Mac(Quote)
Why? When we’ll get him for 50% off in January after you’ve been getting battered every week…
