Former Newcastle United goalkeeper Shaka Hislop has responded to the bombshell Alexander Isak statement, echoing the thoughts of a frustrated fanbase with a passionate rant at the sulking striker.
The statement was released on Tuesday, where Isak talked of broken promises and relationships. He claimed ‘change was better for all parties involved, not just me’.
Former Mag Hislop has lashed out during his ESPN FC show in the USA, condemning the Swede’s actions, missing training and refusing to play. He said:
“You don’t go back to your former club (Real Sociedad) to train. You don’t miss pre-season. You don’t stay away from the football club, and then in mid-August claim the moral high ground!”
“You’ve given that up! If that’s what you’re doing, do it and own it. You don’t get to turn around six weeks into it and claim some kind of moral high ground.”
“So I don’t understand Alexander Isak’s position, and the ridiculous on social media or wherever he put it out.”
“I do not understand who’s advising him, because I can’t think of any way he could’ve gotten this more wrong.”
“It’s an absolute farce.”
Well said, @ShakaHislop! 😤👏#NUFC

Newcastle’s number 14 has gone AWOL this summer, in order to force a move to Premier League rivals Liverpool and burn bridges with those who helped get him to this point on Tyneside.
Isak has been training away from the group, after snubbing the squad’s pre-season tour of Asia to go and train with his former club, Real Sociedad.
He hasn’t been in the squad for a single friendly or league game, and will continue to strike until he’s sold, it seems.
Newcastle united want £150m for their star man, however Liverpool at this time have only sent one bid of £110m. In a response statement, Newcastle claim “The conditions of a sale have not been met. We do not foresee this being met.”

Great post!

Sunday night:
NUFC prepare for their second match of the season as the only EPL club without a goalscoring centre-forward available, and this against the reigning champions (having already failed to score against a massively-misfiring Aston Villa), What colossal, unbelievable, unimaginable incompetence and ineptitude on a scale never before seen in the entire history of the EPL.
This is a lose-lose situation, and everybody can deduce from this analysis, the final result tomorrow.
Disgusting incompetence. Hang your head in shame, NUFC hierarchy. Poor old Eddie!
By tomorrow night this appalling lose-lose scenario will become the even more revolting lose-lose-lose situation.
What the devil has been going on this transfer window??

Shaka’s eloquently direct analysis brings into focus my mounting conerns about Alexander’s mental wellness. What characterises mental ‘dis ease’ is continually shooting yourself in the foot. Alexander needs some genuine support rather than his agent who, I assume, is providing the bullets.

Pay the money and get 2 strikers in as a priority. Fine the greedy rat and let him to rot. Stop wasting time trying to turn him around and even talk about it

Hi Mike,
It’s not who we signed/what positions we strengthened, it is, as you well know, the unforgiveable position we have weakened beyond belief, having had – what- 7 weeks?
