Alexander Isak has joined Liverpool.
A Premier League record fee was agreed between Newcastle and Liverpool in the early hours of Monday morning, with some sources claiming a £125m deal, while others report the fee to be £130m.
Either way, he is gone and he’s ruined his legacy at the club, with his behaviour over the past month a huge shame given everything the club, Eddie Howe, his teammates and supporters have done for him.
Newcastle have released a statement reacting to his sale, saying very little but a lot at the same time in a 37-word message:
“Newcastle United can announce the sale of striker Alexander Isak to Liverpool for a significant British record transfer fee.
“The Sweden international joined the Magpies from Real Sociedad in 2022 and made 109 appearances in all competitions.”
Brief to put it mildly, brutal and with no real thanks, which is exactly what he deserved, in the end, summing up how he’s tarnished his time at the club.
A legacy ruined and his true colours shown.
Good riddance.

The fee is clearer now if you read the (better) press. Lpool have paid the solidarity payments, £5m, on top of the 125m. Normally the sellers must do that. That makes it £130m for us and reduces the sell on to sociedad by £500k too. Nufc also made it a condition that the rat gave up his cut – ‘high single figure millions’, not to be sniffed at either
So despite all the people who love to criticise everything the transfer team do – this is a good deal. Don’t believe the press hype, they are in the cartels pockets

Isak has been awful since the Carabo cup final, it seems obvious he was tapped up then.
Arne Slot has said he has forgotten what Isak did to them, and that undercurrent has been with us since then.
Liverpool are as much a disgrace as Isak imo.
I sincerely hope their investment falls flat, remembering the words of Klopp, we can’t compete with some clubs.
They are a nasty entitled club.

Newcastle now need to draw a line under it.
PIF then need to pull their finger out and support Eddie Howe properly with a New Director of Football and New CEO, they have left him to deal with all the 💩 and he looked seriously under pressure.
Perhaps he can devote his time to the players who want to be here.
