The summer transfer window is set to shut at 7pm, with clubs up and down the country and across parts of Europe all racing to get deal sheets submitted by the deadline.
So, where do we stand and which moves look set to be secured in time?
Starting with the bad news, it’s our understanding that Will Osula’s potential switch to Frankfurt is now off.
A £30m move was deemed ‘on the verge’ of completion by Craig Hope around 2pm, while others suggested a loan-to-buy switch was more likely. However, we can reveal that his proposed move to Germany has now fallen through.
Yoane Wissa has passed his medical and is due at St James’ Park at some stage this evening to complete media duties. A deal sheet has been submitted in time, with a £50m+ deal and four-year contract agreed.
One major outgoing will be Alexander Isak to Liverpool, with a deal in the region of £125-£130m agreed and a medical complete. There will be not issues here and he will leave for a Premier League record fee.
Under-21 talent Trevan Sanusi has officially joined Ligue 1 side Lorient on loan, while reports in the Netherlands suggest FC Groningen look set to bring in teenage midfielder Travis Hernes on loan, with an option to buy negotiated.
Last but not least, Harrison Ashby is available and has received loan interest from Stoke City, although it’s unclear if that move will materialise.

I’d much rather have Osula than nobody as cover, which is definitely needed. Dodged a bullet there, I reckon.
