It’s finally official. Yoane Wissa has completed a move to Newcastle United, subject to Premier League approval.
The striker becomes the club’s eighth and final summer signing after Anthony Elanga, Aaron Ramsdale, Jacob Ramsey, Nick Woltemade and project signings Park Seung-soo and Antonio Cordero.
The 28-year-old arrives from Brentford for an initial £50m that could rise to £55m and signs a four-year deal at St James’ Park
Wissa has taken the famous number nine shirt at Newcastle and has spoken of his delight at finally landing the move to Newcastle United, with Eddie Howe also hailing his Premier League proven record, pace, power and energy.
Read the DR Congo international’s first words as a Newcastle player below, followed by Howe’s reaction and some official photos of him in a Newcastle shirt:
Yoane Wissa
“I’m really happy to be here and to sign for one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League.
“I’m very, very excited to put on the black and white shirt. I’ve got dreams, I’ve got faith and now I will do my best to make it all happen. I can’t wait to get started.”
Eddie Howe
“Yoane is a player who we have admired for some time and we’re delighted to have him on board.
“He brings proven Premier League quality, demonstrated not only by his goalscoring output but also the crucial work he does for the team.
“Yoane’s style of play will excite our supporters and complement our style of play – he has pace, power and an excellent work rate. He immediately makes us stronger.”

Welcome to the club, Yoane!

Alexander the great . Not a chance absolutely disgusting his attitude towards Eddie howe who made him the player he is now compared to what he achieved before he came to our famous one city club he could have been a legend. Not now though pure disrespectful towards the black and white club who made him the player he has become just rubbed it in everyone who made him faces he should have been fined for his actions. GOOD RIDDANCE TO BAD OFFENDER

The rat will be remembered like owen, and not just by toon fans. Little Michael was a great player too, before the injuries (another similarity?). But he was all about me, me, me and £££. He’s now a joke figure, especially to fans of the clubs he played for
I can see 🐀going the same way. Break a leg, as they say

I have read that Newcastle are worse off now than at the beginning of the season! In my opinion with Woltemade, Wissa and £15M quid in the bank instead of Isak they are better than before! Isak for me is injury prone, only time will tell. He will not get the same service from Salah as he did from Murphy last season. Salah will be wanting to win the Golden Boot and will be taking the penalties. Isak says he wants to make goal scoring history, is that conceited or what?Again in my opinion he will be lucky to score 16 league goals this season! We will see.

I suggest that the Isak saga goes back to the Carabao Cup final, when Van Dijke was talking to Isak at the end of the game . I’m sure he wasn’t complimenting Isak on scoring his goal. Any clues into what he might have been saying?
