Barcelona have released their official travelling squad for Thursday night’s clash with Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League.
Having left Spain this morning for the North East, there is good and bad news from the Barca camp, with a boost for Hansi Flick’s side being that £65m Dutchman Frenkie De Jong has recovered from a muscle issue to make the trip.
New signings Yoan Garcia (Espanyol), Marcus Rashford (Man Utd) and Roony Bardghji (Copenhagen) also make the squad, but there are four high-profile names missing.
After sitting out of Sunday’s 6-0 win over Valencia and failing to train in the build up, superstar winger Lamine Yamal misses out, meaning Newcastle United fans will not see the 18-year-old sensation tomorrow night.
Elsewhere, goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen is also absent along with left-back Alejandro Balde and midfielder Gavi.
See Barcelona’s full 22-man squad in full below, featuring plenty of star names in Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Pedri, along with a few former Premier League talents in Christensen (Chelsea), Torres (Man City) and Szczesny (Arsenal):
Goalkeepers: Joan García, Szczesny, Kochen (Ter Stegen out)
Defenders: Kounde, Araujo, Cubarsí, Christensen, Gerard Martin, Eric Garcia, Jofre (Balde out)
Midfielders: Pedro, De Jong, Olmo, Casado, Fermin Lopez, Bernal (Gavi out)
Forwards: Lewandowski, Raphinha, Ferran Torres, Rashford, Bardghji, Fernandez (Yamal out)
It’s still not a bad group of players to have to choose from like is it
