Player ‘wants to move’ after Newcastle rejected €5m + €25m offer – Report

It’s been a busy 2025 of ins and outs at St James’ Park.

Alongside six senior additions over the summer, we saw several players leave, including Alexander Isak, Sean Longstaff, Callum Wilson and Martin Dubravka, to name a few.

Another player who looked set for the exit door at one stage was Danish striker Will Osula, who received a deadline day offer from Frankfurt.

Initially, a shock £30m move was reported and thought to be close, but PIF intervened and blocked his exit, with Frankfurt altering their bid to an initial loan that included an option to buy.

Last night, Florian Plettenberg reported that Frankfurt are still keen on the 22-year-old and discussing a January switch with the player’s camp, and another update on the striker has emerged today.

Sky Germany report that Frankfurt’s summer bid was an initial loan worth €5m (£4.3m), plus the option of a permanent transfer worth €25m (£21.7m).

Crucially, they state that the Bundesliga side had already agreed terms with Osula, stating that the former Sheffield United talent still ‘wants to move’ after it collapsed on deadline day.

Although Osula has scored a league goal against Liverpool this season, bagged a brace in the Carabao Cup and Champions League assist in last week’s 4-0 win over Union, he may be wondering just how he breaks into Eddie Howe’s long-term plans on Tyneside now Nick Woltemade (23) and Yoane Wissa (29) are ahead of him in the pecking order.

So, if the reports in Germany are true and Frankfurt do return with a more tempting offer in January, could we see Newcastle cash in on the forward 18 months on from his £10m move?

Newcastle should have sold Osula for £30m, Howe's brewing a bigger talent
