While many of our senior stars are away on international duty, Newcastle United’s Under-21s were in action on Wednesday night.
Our Young Mags took on Boston United in the National League Cup, where the likes of Park Seung-soo, Miodrag Pivas and Alfie Harrison were in action, along with highly-rated 16-year-old Sam Alabi.
However, the man of the match and best player on the pitch by some distance was Geordie forward Sean Neave.
The 18-year-old opened the scoring from the spot, then produced two quality finishes before the break to complete a 24-minute hat-trick and send Newcastle into a 3-0 lead.
Watch all of his goals below in the 3-1 win, with his third set up after some lovely wing play by South Korean talent Seung-soo:

Neave has been knocking on the first team door for much of 2025, with the tall and technical forward making a few matchday squads after 11 goals and four assists in 17 youth games last season, where he quickly took to Under-21 football after a prolific spell with our Under-18s.
The teenager is now an England youth international at Under-18 level and will be pushing for senior minutes soon, whether that’s with Eddie Howe’s Newcastle or out on loan in the EFL.
Newcastle XI vs Boston: James Taylor, Ciaran Thompson, Charlie McArthur, Cathal Heffernan (c), Miodrag Pivaš (Joe Brayson 78), Scott Bailey, Alfie Harrison, Anthony Munda, Kacey Wooster, Sean Neave (Sam Alabi 86), Seung-soo Park (Dylan Charlton 70).
