Howe offers big injury update – New quotes on Wissa, Hall, Tino, Ramsey & Joelinton

Eddie Howe has been back speaking to the media this morning, offering an update on the injury and fitness front ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Brighton.

Starting with Yoane Wissa, the boss reveals that the DR Congo striker has “reacted pretty well to that work so far” after returning to the grass this week although there is no change to his likely return date as the 29-year-old targets early November.

Howe shared the “good news” on Lewis Hall, who is hoping to be back BEFORE the next international break in November, while Tino Livramento is out of a knee brace, “feeling positive” and aiming to be back next month.

Jacob Ramsey set make squad at Brighton tomorrow, with the midfielder recovering from an ankle issue that has kept him out since our 0-0 draw at Leeds on the third weekend of the season.

Joelinton returned from Brazil duty with a “little” groin concern, but he’ll train today and be assessed ahead of our trip to Brighton. See Howe’s comments in full below:

“I think everyone has come back okay, little concern over Joelinton but think he has come back okay. We’ll see how he trains today.

“Jacob Ramsey has had a couple of sessions. Didn’t want to push him too much, he trained in the break and looked good, pleased where he is now.

“Lewis Hall’s second scan was good news. There was different scales of time he could be out and it was the shorter time. We hope he will be back before the next international break. From the first scan that might not have been possible so it’s good news.”

“Tino is out of the brace, no massive changes to the time frame that he was given, but he is feeling positive. We hope to see him back at the end of November.

“Yoane’s had his first time on the grass with us which was great to see. We need to step him up gradually. I know he is desperate to get out and show his worth but it’s one step at a time now.”

For Brighton, Karou Mitoma is a doubt after missing both of Japan’s games over the break, while Gruda, Hinshelwood, Webster and March have all been ruled out.

Joel Veltman is set to be assessed and Diego Gomez is expected to be OK, despite picking up a knock on Paraguay duty earlier this week.
