TEAM NEWS: Gordon starts & Wissa returns – Confirmed Newcastle line up vs Burnley

The team sheets are in at St James’ Park, where Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United welcome Scott Parker’s Burnley to Tyneside in today’s 3pm kick-off.

A big chance awaits to make it three wins from four in the league and bounce back from our midweek frustrations, with the visitors losing five in a row and six of their last seven away from home.

Here’s how the two sides line up this afternoon…

Confirmed line ups

Newcastle XI: Ramsdale – Livramento, Thiaw, Schar, Burn – Ramsey, Guimaraes, Willock – Elanga, Woltemade, Gordon

Substitutes: Ruddy, Hall, Joelinton, Tonali, Wissa, Barnes, J.Murphy, A.Murphy, Miley

Burnley XI: Dubravka – Walker, Ekdal, Esteve, Pires – Cullen, Florentino, Ugochukwu, – Foster, Bruun Larsen, Broja

Eddie Howe has made six changes from Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Spurs, seeing Schar, Bruno, Ramsey, Willock, Elanga and Gordon come into the side and Hall, Tonali, Joelinton, Miley, Murphy and Barnes drop out respectively.

Rotation is to be expected and may be a wise move, with trips to Bayer Leverkusen and Sunderland both to come next week.

The big news ahead of kick-off also sees Yoane Wissa make the squad for the very first time since his £55m move from Brentford after coming through two behind-closed-doors games over the past week.

As expected, Kieran Trippier, Nick Pope and Sven Botman all miss out once again alongside Osula and Krafth, with Burnley without suspended midfielder Hannibal Mejbri.

Howay the lads!
